After adding key reinforcements last offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles soared to a 14-3 record and looked dominant for most of the year. Despite some shaky moments in the NFL playoffs, they seemingly got better as the postseason progressed and defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59 by the score of 40-22.
GM Howie Roseman’s signing of Saquon Barkley in free agency was the driving force of Philadelphia’s offense, breaking the all-time single-season rushing record when combining regular season and playoff stats with 2,504 yards. Now, as they look to defend the title, one analyst predicts they will land the college football’s most explosive playmaker in Emeka Egbuka.

Eagles Predicted To Pick Emeka Egbuka In 2025 NFL Draft
Philadelphia’s passing game had moments of brilliance, but it wasn’t always reliable. This was reflected in the Eagles’ 14th-ranked Offensive+ grade of 77.4 (C+) during the regular season.
A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are a formidable duo, but the Eagles’ receiving corps lacks depth and a veteran leader. This was on display when Brown and Smith got hurt during the 2024 season and Philadelphia was relying on Jahan Dotson, Parris Campbell, and Britain Covey.
That’s why NFL analyst Sam Farmer predicts the Eagles will strengthen their receiver room with Ohio State’s Egbuka. He projects Philadelphia using its 32nd overall pick on the top receiving prospect.
“What do you get a team that has everything? How about another reliable target for Jalen Hurts?” he wrote.
Egbuka brings a dynamic skill set that would immediately boost the Eagles’ offense. At 6’1” with sharp footwork and elite separation skills, he can stretch defenses from the slot and offer Hurts another reliable target.
During his time at Ohio State, Egbuka racked up 24 touchdowns and 2,868 receiving yards, consistently proving himself as a dependable red-zone threat. His quickness off the line and ability to exploit coverage gaps could give Philly a much-needed boost in third down situations.
PFSN’s Latest Mock Draft Projection
In PFSN’s latest seven-round mock draft by Joe DeLeone, the Eagles are selecting Ole Miss edge rusher Princely Umanmielen as the 32nd overall pick.
“Assuming Josh Sweat leaves in free agency, finding his replacement will be very easy in this class loaded with edge talent. Howie Roseman has built this roster through high-upside, athletic prospects. Princely Umanmielen is exactly that, playing with rare flexibility and burst.”
Meanwhile, Egbuka is projected to be picked early by the Washington Commanders as the 27th overall pick.
“What better way to help out your young quarterback than adding another Ohio State receiver? Emeka Egbuka’s impact in the slot thanks to his route running and quick feet would be an ideal fit alongside Terry McLaurin.”
