The Philadelphia Eagles put a halt to what seemed to be an inevitability, a “love story,” if you will, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the record books in Super Bowl 59 with the upset victory. Kansas City’s three-peat dream was ended with a 40-22 rout, and their star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, was sacked a staggering six times.
Mahomes had no answers for the Eagles’ defense, and in addition to getting sacked, several of his passes were defended, including one by cornerback Isaiah Rodgers, who’s now celebrating the victory with a massive tattoo.

Isaiah Rodgers Commemorates Super Bowl 59 Win Over Chiefs With Massive Tattoo
Rodgers celebrated the Eagles’ Super Bowl 59 win with a massive tattoo on his right leg. In a video shared by the cornerback on his X account, Rodgers could be seen having tattooed the logo of the Super Bowl 59 on his right calf with his jersey No. 34 and the 40-22 scoreline inked above and below it, respectively.
While it marked the Eagles’ second Super Bowl title, it was Rodgers’ first, and it probably meant more to him for all that he had to endure in the last few seasons.
The NFL suspended Rodgers for the 2023 season for violating the league’s gambling policy following the 2022 season when he was a sixth-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts. He was considered an up-and-coming star at the cornerback position, but the Colts released him after the suspension, and the Eagles took a bet on him.

That’s why his first celebration post on social media after the Eagles’ victory read:
“I ain’t BET this time but I would’ve BET on myself. I guess you can say life’s a gamble. From the bet slips to the next chip.”
Despite limited snaps on defense, Rodgers finished the regular season with 26 total tackles, a fumble recovery, one blocked kick, and four passes defensed. His performance shot up in the playoffs, making six total tackles, a fumble recovery, and defending three passes, including one off Mahomes in the Super Bowl.
As Mahomes was sacked six times and intercepted twice, the Chiefs were confined to just six points through three quarters of the game. The Eagles’ defense, ranked second by PFSN’s Defense+ metric, was the best unit Kansas City saw in the playoffs.
Philadelphia had never won a Super Bowl entering the 2017 campaign, and now, with two in eight years, it’ll hope to forge the NFL’s next dynasty. Running back Saquon Barkley believes it’s possible.
