Legendary Eagles OT Lane Johnson Makes Blunt Admission About Potentially Retiring After Super Bowl Against Chiefs

Lane Johnson is keeping it real with no filters. The Philadelphia Eagles’ legendary offensive tackle just hit us with a truth bomb that’s got everyone rethinking his future. After Super Bowl 59 with the Kansas City Chiefs, Johnson’s plans will be a major story in Philadelphia — and he’s not dodging the question.

Lane Johnson Has No Plans To Retire, Says He’s Ready for More in 2025

After Super Bowl 59, Johnson isn’t planning to ride off into the sunset like John Elway. The Eagles’ offensive tackle has no plans to hang up his cleats, win or lose.

“No, I’m definitely not retiring after this game, win or lose. Definitely playing next year. That’s really how you take it, I guess, when you get up there in age, you take it one year at a time.”

At 34, Johnson’s still got the drive and the body to keep going.

With six Pro Bowls and a Super Bowl win in his pocket, Johnson’s feeling better than ever.

“Physically, I feel a lot better than I have in the past couple years. Feel really good. For being this late in the year, it’s usually not like that. I’m thankful, we’ve got a good team here to help us out with with all that,” he said, which is a shocker for a guy who’s been grinding through one of the NFL’s toughest positions.

And why would he walk away now? The Eagles are a juggernaut — two NFC titles, a Super Bowl run two years ago, and a 14-3 season in 2024. Plus, he’s blocking for Saquon Barkley.

For Johnson, the game’s still got plenty of juice left. With the Eagles aiming for their second title in the last 10 years, he’s got more than just a championship in his sights — he’s all about that “one year at a time” grind.

The Eagles are a powerhouse, and Johnson’s not about to let that go anytime soon, so put the retirement talk to rest.
