The Philadelphia Eagles just can’t stop making deals as the offseason continues. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman addressed the team’s need for a backup quarterback behind Jalen Hurts on Friday.

Kenny Pickett Trade Details: Steelers Send Former First-Round QB to the Eagles
Following the departure of Marcus Mariota in free agency, Philadelphia needed to address their backup quarterback spot behind Hurts. While some speculation surrounded free agent quarterback Easton Stick, the Eagles went in a different direction.
Roseman pulled off a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers for Kenny Pickett. After Pittsburgh signed Russell Wilson, Pickett wanted a change of scenery, and now he heads to his favorite childhood team in Philadelphia.

After trading for Pickett, Philadelphia’s draft picks look a bit different in the 2024 NFL Draft. Before the deal, the Eagles were scheduled to have three picks on the Night 2 of the event.
The Eagles have now completely dropped out of the third round after sending the 98th overall pick to Pittsburgh. Philadelphia picked up the 120th overall pick in the fourth round, essentially dropping back 22 spots to land their backup quarterback for the next two seasons.

Eagles Free Agency Predictions: Remaining Targets Include Hunter Renfrow, Quandre Diggs, and J.C. Jackson
While the Eagles and Roseman continue to make moves, some holes remain on their roster. Pro Football Network’s Nick Faria offered a few potential targets for the Eagles to sign in free agency.
The most intriguing target that Faria mentioned could be former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow. He would fit perfectly in the slot wide receiver position in Philadelphia’s offense.

Report: Josh Sweat Restructures Contract With Eagles
After signing edge rusher Bryce Huff to a huge deal in free agency, many expected Philadelphia to move on from Josh Sweat, Haason Reddick, or possibly both players. Yet, that won’t be the case with Sweat, as he reportedly restructured his current contract to remain in Philadelphia next season. Now we will wait and see what happens with Reddick.

Following his return to Philadelphia, Gardner-Johnson met with the media for his introductory press conference on Friday. C.J. Gardner-Johnson Honors Kobe Bryant With Jersey Number
After wearing No. 23 during his first stint in Philadelphia, Gardner-Johnson announced that he is wearing a different number moving forward. Gardner-Johnson is honoring Kobe Bryant by wearing No. 8 for the Eagles next season. He mentioned Bryant’s drive and ability to never settle as reasons to honor the NBA legend.
