Eagles Legend Jason Kelce Sends Blunt 9-Word Message About Philadelphia’s Chances vs. Commanders in NFC Title Game

Former Eagles player Jason Kelce gave a blunt response in regards to Philadelphia's chances against the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship.

Jason Kelce is never one to mince words and the Philadelphia Eagles legend was brutally honest when previewing the NFC Championship Game.

Kelce, a one-time Super Bowl champion, was previewing the impending matchup between the Eagles and Washington Commanders on SportsRadio 94WIP — a local sports-talk radio station in Philadelphia — when he decided to get very candid. Looking at the two rosters, he sees a clear favorite.

Commanders Fans Take Offense to Jason Kelce’s Comments

“I’ll be very candid. I think the Eagles are better at every position,” Kelce said. “Like, I don’t know if there is one position — if you put the two rosters, the depth charts next to each other — that I would take the Washington player over the Eagle player. And that is a very honest assessment. I think that the Eagles are loaded.”

Kelce wasn’t trying to knock the Commanders, adding that Dan Quinn is a “fantastic coach” and crediting their ability to play team football.

“They play as a unit. They make minimal mistakes,” Kelce said. “They just got done beating the best team in the NFC, arguably over the last two seasons, pretty handily in their house.”

It’s no surprise Kelce — a sort of unofficial mascot for the City of Brotherly Love — would pick the Eagles to win. He wore an Eagles uniform for 13 seasons, endearing himself to fans with his blue-collar work ethic while entrenching himself into the city’s fabric with his charity work.

    He knew the assignment.

Plus, the oddsmakers in Vegas agree with Kelce. The Eagles are 6.5-point favorites and own home-field advantage in the NFC Championship Game. The two fierce NFC East rivals split the regular-season series.

Not everyone agreed, though, with Kelce’s honest assessment. A slew of Commanders fans jumped on social media to fight back against his argument, citing Jayden Daniels’ red-hot play as a reason for Washington’s victory and claiming that he is better than Jalen Hurts.

“We found the only person in America who thinks Jalen is a better QB than Daniels,” wrote one fan.

Another wrote: “Does anyone outside of Philly really believe that Jalen Hurts is better than Jayden Daniels?”

“They said almost the same thing before the Detroit game,” wrote another fan.

One fan talked about the coaching matchup between Nick Sirianni and Quinn.

“Quinn is a better coach than Siriani….. I’ve seen it in both football and basketball particularly the team sports. Coaching is better you can take a roster that might not be stacked and get them to play so good that it makes people wonder how it happened.”

Jalen Hurts Gives Injury Update on Sore Knee

Hurts briefly left Philadelphia’s Divisional Round playoff game when his knee got twisted up. He returned with a brace on it and finished the game.

On Wednesday ahead of the NFC Championship Game, Hurts was asked by reporters to provide an injury update … and, predictably, he gave little details.

“Just progressing, taking it a day at a time,” Hurts said. “I was able to participate today [Wednesday] and be involved in stuff, so just taking it a day at a time.”

When asked specifically if he was planning to play, Hurts replied: “Yeah.”
