Eagles HC Nick Sirianni Gets Real On Dealing With ‘Outside Noise’ Ahead of Super Bowl 59

Philadelphia Eagles' head coach Nick Sirianni shed light on how he has dealt with criticism ahead of the Super Bowl 59 showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is making his case as one of the best coaches in the NFL, having led the team to two Super Bowl appearances in three years. But he has been under fire this season from both analysts and fans over the style of the Eagles’ offensive approach.

Ahead of his second Super Bowl appearance, Sirianni opened up about how he dealt with the outside noise and turned it into a positive thing for the team.

Nick Sirianni Completely Blocking Out the Noise Ahead of Super Bowl 59

Sirianni has drawn criticism from the Eagles’ fans right from his arrival in 2021 when his introductory press conference raised eyebrows. But actions speak louder than words, and he silenced critics by leading the Eagles to the playoffs in his first season with a 9-8 record.

Sirianni was booed by a section of the Eagles’ fans this season, who even chanted “Fire Nick” in the stadium while his offensive approach drew criticism from many analysts, including Colin Cowherd and three-time Super Bowl champion Julian Edelman.

However, the 43-year-old has completely blocked out the noise ahead of Super Bowl 59 and is all focused on securing his first championship ring.

“You try not to let the outside noise or listen to it in, but obviously you’re gonna hear some of it through media and everything like that, but I try to find a where I can connect with it with the guys that are going through things right, going through criticism,” he said during a recent episode of Pat McAfee Show

Siriani further claimed he took the criticism as a positive thing that helped him understand what his players were going through.

“I look at it as a positive because I can relate to the guys that are going through what they go through.”

And Sirianni had indeed understood and related to the players’ struggles when he gave a fitting reply to quarterback Jalen Hurts’ critics last week following the Eagles’ resounding 55-23 win over the Washington Commanders in the AFC Championship game.

“How about our quarterback? How about our quarterback?” Sirianni said during an interview on the field with Fox Sports’ Terry Bradshaw. “He’s a stud! I knew he was going to play that way! I knew it! Don’t doubt him! All he does is win!”

Sirianni also silenced the critics of his offensive approach as the Eagles’ 55 points set a record for the most points in a Conference Championship Game, surpassing the 1990 Buffalo Bills, who scored 51 against the Los Angeles Raiders.

Philadelphia’s dominance was on full display as they tied the 1940 Chicago Bears as the only teams in playoff history to rush for seven touchdowns in a game. They’re the first to do so in a Conference Championship Game and find themselves staring down the Chiefs in the Super Bowl for the second time in three years, this time hoping to emerge victorious.

Based on PFN’s win probability model, which ran 10,000 simulations via the PFN Playoff Predictor, the Philadelphia Eagles have a 52.8% chance of defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59.
