Philadelphia Eagles fans are fired up, and it’s all about former NFL safety Ryan Clark. The ESPN analyst’s comments about Josh Allen have stirred the pot in Philly, with fans calling out his lack of criticism toward the Buffalo Bills quarterback compared to Eagles QB Jalen Hurts.
It’s the classic double standard debate, and the Eagles faithful aren’t having it. They want to know why Clark holds Hurts to a higher bar while letting Allen slide.
Eagles Fans Call Out Ryan Clark’s Hypocrisy Surrounding Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen
Eagles fans are fed up regarding Clark’s latest comments. During an interview on ESPN’s “Get Up,” Clark praised Allen’s focus on winning this season, calling it “not about how it looks, not about the stats.”
But Philly fans aren’t buying it. They’ve watched Hurts get slammed all year for doing the exact same thing – focusing on winning over individual accolades.
One fan commented, “Ryan always talking out of both sides of his mouth. So sick of this guy. He adds no value.”

Another fired back, accusing Clark of dragging Hurts through the mud despite him sticking to a winning mentality all year.
“You guys continually show how hypocritical you are. You drag Hurts through the mud for LITERALLY DOING THIS!!” the fan commented.

A third pointed out that when Hurts does it, it’s criticized, but Allen gets a free pass.
“Hurts has been saying this all year but caught nothing but heat for focusing on one thing… winning,” the user quipped.
Fans are also taking shots at ESPN’s coverage, claiming that the network’s biased analysis (particularly against Hurts) has been draining. One fan questioned the double standard, asking why Allen gets credit for focusing on team success while Hurts is criticized for the same approach.
Another highlighted the glaring disparity in how the two quarterbacks are treated by media personalities: “So it doesn’t matter when it’s the MVP Josh Allen, But, it matters how it looks when it’s Jalen Hurts???? Lmao okay.”
This heated debate has fans furious, with many arguing that Hurts deserves the same respect as Allen. As the season progresses, it’s clear: Philly’s fan base isn’t backing down from the fight to defend their QB. Let’s see if the rest of the world catches up to the truth.
Clark: The Pressure’s on Patrick Mahomes, Not Allen in AFC Showdown
Clark is making it clear that he believes the pressure is on Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, not Allen. As the debate raged on “First Take” over the upcoming showdown, former NFL quarterback Cam Newton confidently picked Allen as the one who “has to be better” for his team to win.
But Clark isn’t having it.
“If I’m Roger Goodell, I’m gonna start writing the Kansas City Chiefs’ schedule… as a 19-game schedule, because all the dude knows is how to show up on championship weekend… only Joe Burrow and Tom Brady have found a way to go into Arrowhead and beat this man… the [QB] who needs to do more is Patrick Mahomes. The [QB] that needs to be better is Patrick Mahomes,” Clark said, throwing his support.
According to Clark, Mahomes is the one who needs to rise to the occasion, given his track record of success in the postseason. As he said, only Joe Burrow and Tom Brady have found a way to beat Mahomes in Arrowhead.
The AFC has become Mahomes’ domain, with Buffalo repeatedly hitting the wall that is the Chiefs in the playoffs. Allen is 4-1 against Mahomes in the regular season but 0-3 in the playoffs.
Clark suggests Allen needs to play “within himself” and keep things efficient. He believes the Bills’ best chance is a smart, balanced game until Allen may need to step up late.
It’s game time — who will rise and who will fall? The AFC Championship is just hours away.
