Eagles Star A.J. Brown Sends Message to Teammates About How Philly’s Super Bowl Win Changes Everything

WR A.J. Brown sent a message to the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles on how to keep their opponents on their toes during the 2025 season.

NFL teams win Super Bowls for many reasons, including a solid coaching staff and playmaking athletes. Once clubs have reached that pinnacle, however, other franchises often seek out those coaches and players.

For the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, it was offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. The former Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers coordinator, who had spent just one season with the Eagles, was scooped up by the New Orleans Saints as their next head coach.

Philadelphia’s passing game coordinator, Kevin Patullo, was promoted to replace Moore, and while uncertainty always lingers after a significant coaching change, Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown refuses to blink.

Philadelphia Eagles’ A.J. Brown Applauds OC Kevin Patullo Hire Following Super Bowl Win

The Eagles are clearly onto something and cannot be complacent simply because the franchise has added its third Lombardi to their trophy case.

“For our fans, they need to understand everything has to change,” Brown explained during an NFL Network “The Insiders” interview on Feb. 20. “I know we just won, but it has to change. We have to get better, and we have to do things different. But I truly feel like it’s a great hire; [Patullo] already has been involved in almost everything. He, Kellen, and Nick (Sirianni) basically called the plays already.”

General manager Howie Roseman and Sirianni didn’t feel the need to look outside the Eagles organization to find Moore’s replacement—he was right under their noses.

Brown feels that familiarity will allow the Eagles to hit the ground running in 2025. “It’s a great hire, and he’s already familiar with us. We have a great relationship, and he knows what we need to work on because he’s been there, and he’s been there for a while, and, like I said, he’s already been a part of all the situations and the conversations and everything. So, I think it’s a great hire.”

Patullo, 43, has an extensive history with the Eagles head coach. During Sirianni’s stint as the Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator, Patullo served as wide receivers coach and pass-game specialist from 2018 to 2020. Sirianni hired Patullo as pass-game coordinator when he got the Eagles’ head coaching job in 2021.

Brown Admits ‘Hunted’ Eagles Must ‘Evolve’ Ahead of 2025 NFL Season

As the saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” But that doesn’t fly in the NFL, especially after a team wins the Super Bowl.

When Philadelphia robbed the Kansas City Chiefs of a threepeat — a win that would’ve firmly put them in the Pittsburgh Steelers-New England Patriots dynasty conversation — the two teams swapped spots. The brightly-lit target on the backs of the Chiefs for the past two seasons now belongs to the Eagles.

Brown knows that if that target moves, it’s harder to hit.

“It has to change; it has to evolve,” Brown said. “I don’t know what wrinkles would look like, but we have to find ways to get better, you know? It’s a lot of fame out there on us we just won, and guys are gonna be coming at us. We’re not the hunting anymore; we’re the hunted, and we have to get better.”
