If you already find yourself enamored with the deep-dive of dynasty fantasy football, joining a Devy league is the natural progression for fantasy football fanatics. Player values fluctuate as the college football weeks fly by, making our Week 12 dynasty rankings and Devy rankings for 1QB and Superflex dynasty leagues the most comprehensive set of rankings to date.
What’s the difference between Devy and dynasty rankings?
I know some of you are asking, “What is Devy fantasy football?” and how does it differ from regular dynasty rankings? Devy is a niche dynasty fantasy football game that incorporates the drafting of current college football prospects before they officially enter their name into the NFL Draft. Current college football players and incoming freshmen are typically eligible to be drafted in Devy drafts, but each individual league is slightly different, meaning you could even stumble across some Devy rankings with top high-school prospects included.
As you can see on our dynasty rankings table, we offer both 1QB and Superflex Devy rankings for an easier understanding of each player’s value. While 1QB is the more traditional form of fantasy football, our devy rankings are also useful in the ever-growing Superflex format. With the ability to choose between starting a quarterback or a skill-position player, quarterbacks are often valued much higher in our Superflex rankings.
Friday Night Devy Watchlist
Week 12 of the college football schedule begins on Tuesday night with your traditional midweek MACtion, but this week’s look at prospects on our devy rankings for dynasty leagues doesn’t really begin until Friday night. There are currently four NCAA football games on Friday’s schedule, including matchups in the ACC and Big Ten.
Coming off an embarrassing 31-17 defeat to Virginia without devy stars Javian Hawkins and Tutu Atwell, the Louisville Cardinals host the Syracuse Orange on Friday night. With a combined record of 3-13 and Hawkins announcing this week that he’s opting-out to focus on his NFL aspirations, you’re likely dumpster-diving for devy relevance in this matchup.
In the Big Ten, Friday night’s matchup between Purdue and Minnesota could feature two of the top ten prospects in our 2021 dynasty rookie rankings. We say could because Purdue wide receiver Rondale Moore has yet to play this season, and the Boilermakers haven’t exactly been open about why. Boilermakers wide receiver David Bell has stepped up in Moore’s absence, hauling in 31 receptions for 321 yards through three contests.
While it’s growing more and more unlikely that Moore suits up this season, we know that Minnesota’s Rashod Bateman will play and produce despite horrible quarterback play. Tanner Morgan has done enough to derail Minnesota’s season, but not even bad quarterback play can keep Bateman down, as the wide receiver’s 413 yards is good enough for second in the Big Ten. He is becoming a household name in our dynasty rankings.
Week 12 Dynasty & Superflex Fantasy Football Rankings: Saturday watchlist
With an abundance of postponements and cancellations, Week 11 featured zero Top 25 vs. Top 25 matchups. It’s still early in the week, so that can change between now and Saturday, but Week 12’s college football schedule currently features three games between ranked foes. These include #9 Indiana @ #3 Ohio State, #10 Wisconsin @ #19 Northwestern, and the Bedlam rivalry between #14 Oklahoma State and #18 Oklahoma.
Indiana’s passing-game duo of quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and Ty Fryfogle has been on an early-season tear, but carrying that momentum over against Ohio State on the road seems like an impossible task. With Ohio State opening up as a 21-point favorite, Vegas seems to agree with that sentiment.
On the other side, Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields might be playing the best football of his college career. Some might call that hyperbole and an overreaction to the three-game sample size, but Fields has an 11/0 TD-INT ratio while completing 86.7% of his passes. I don’t care if it’s only three games; that’s just absurd. The vast majority of quarterback prospects don’t even reach that mark on their pro day. Fields continues to climb up our Week 12 dynasty rankings.
With ESPN’s College Gameday in town and a collection of devy prospects on both sides, the 2020 edition of Bedlam sets up another intriguing matchup in this terrific rivalry. Oklahoma State’s duo of Chuba Hubbard and Tylan Wallace are well known in the dynasty rankings community, while Oklahoma’s roster is full of future NFL prospects.
Quarterback Spencer Rattler has all the tools necessary to be an NFL starter in a few years, while his weapons around him remain extremely underrated. Most people knew about wide receivers Charleston Rambo, Theo Wease, and Theo Howard before the season, but not many people knew what Oklahoma had in true freshman Marvin Mims. Currently leading the Sooners with 25 receptions, 418 yards, and seven touchdowns, Mims has been a revelation for Oklahoma in 2020.
Ranked foes aren’t the only prospects we study for our Week 12 dynasty rankings. Other games with devy and Superflex importance: #4 Clemson @ Florida State, LSU @ Arkansas, Tennessee @ #23 Auburn, #1 Alabama @ Kentucky, #20 USC @ Utah. The devy superstars featured in these games include Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, Terrace Marshall Jr., Najee Harris, DeVonta Smith, and Amon-Ra St. Brown.
