Coming out of Lee’s Summit High School, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Drew Lock was a four-star recruit who chose to stay home and play his college football at the University of Missouri.
As the sixth-best pro-style quarterback in the 2015 class committed to the University of Missouri to play college football despite being considered a two-star basketball prospect as a guard, Lock chose football and retired from basketball after completing high school.
A Look Back at Drew Lock’s College Career
Lock was not immediately named a starter as a freshman when he got onto campus, but he found his way into the starting lineup not long thereafter. He made 12 appearances his rookie year, with eight starts on the season.
Lock finished that first season 2-6 and tallied 1,332 passing yards, four touchdown passes, and eight interceptions. While his first season as a Tiger was not the most impressive season statistically, the fact he was able to take over the starting role and not relinquish it for the rest of his career was an impressive feat for a young freshman at the time.
However, team success was hard to come by for that second season as well. Lock started all 12 games that year en route to finishing 4-8. Statistically, his production jumped in a big way, as he finished the year with 3,399 passing yards, 23 touchdown passes, and 10 interceptions.

Lock’s NFL Career

Lock spent the first three years of his NFL career with the Broncos and finished with an 8-13 record while appearing in 24 games.
In 2022, Lock joined the Seattle Seahawks as part of the trade that sent Russell Wilson to Denver. Now in his fifth NFL season, Lock is looking for a second chance with another franchise.
