Tyreek Hill is back at it again. The sensational wide receiver is one of the best players in the world, regardless of position. However, the man is also an expert-level troll.
Before, during, and after the NFL season, Hill makes it a mission to confuse the fan base. Whether it’s interview quips or social media posts, the superstar isn’t afraid of having a laugh about the NFL rumor cycle.
But there always remains the off chance that his comments are going to make some headway. And over the last few weeks, those rumors have continued to magnify. This time around, it was a direct, unprompted post on X that many saw as a strong sign that Hill might want to come back to his old team.
Tyreek Hill Has 1 Team on His Mind
Over the last year, rumors about a potential trade away from the Miami Dolphins have become increasingly commonplace. A $200+ million contract extension for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has limited the team’s spending budget. As a result, as their most expensive non-QB, Hill’s name is the first one to come up in hypotheticals.
Hill, on the other hand, appears unbothered as he continues to spark speculation on his own. With 2025 rolling around, the WR1 saw another opportunity to pique fan interest, posting “Happy new year especially to the chiefs.”
Happy new year especially to the chiefs

Since his departure from the Kansas City Chiefs, Hill has repeatedly expressed his love for the team and the city. Moreover, his connection with quarterback Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid was always special.
Yet, despite the Dolphins giving him the two best statistical seasons of his career (1,700+ yards in 2022 and 2023), Hill’s love for the Chiefs shone through in the post.
Earlier in the week, he even posted a rumor about going to the Los Angeles Chargers on his Snapchat story. However, after a down year, Hill’s return value might be considerably lower than what the Dolphins are expecting.
Posting the third-worst average yards per reception of his career despite significant targets is pulling Hill’s stock down. Still needing 61 yards to reach the threshold, Hill could fail to reach 1,000 receiving yards on the year. Not counting his rookie season, that has only ever happened in 2019, when he appeared in just 12 games.
After back-to-back seasons recording 1,710 and 1,799 yards, respectively, the drop-off for Hill has been meteoric. Some of it can be attributed to Tagovailoa missing time during the season. Still, the difference in numbers has been staggering.
That decline may have Hill wanting a reunion with the Chiefs, or it could simply be another masterful troll job from an expert.
