For months, speculation swirled around Tyreek Hill’s future with the Miami Dolphins. After the All-Pro wide receiver made headlines by publicly requesting a trade, rumors took off, raising questions about whether he had played his final game with the Dolphins.
While Hill settled things with Miami’s front office shortly after, he’s now posted a cryptic message about general manager Chris Grier following Miami’s first move of the 2025 NFL free agency period.

Tyreek Hill Thinks Chris Grier Is Playing Chess
During a live Super Bowl special episode of “Up & Adams,” Hill addressed his future in Miami with an emphatic statement of loyalty. When asked if he wanted to remain with the Dolphins, he made his feelings clear.
“I do,” Hill said. “I don’t want to go nowhere. I love it, my family loves it, kids absolutely love being on the beach every morning… we are really building something special in Miami.”
Meanwhile, with the start of NFL free agency, Hill thinks Grier is playing chess.
“Grier playing chess hmm I like,” he posted.

It’s hard to tell whether Hill is criticizing the general manager or giving him credit, but Miami’s first move in free agency, signing Zach Wilson, might not have thrilled the star receiver or the fan base.
Since being drafted in 2021 with the second overall pick by the New York Jets, Wilson has arguably been one of the league’s worst quarterbacks. In his three years with the Jets, he averaged just a 60% completion rate.
He was never able to put up numbers or prove himself as a starting-caliber QB. Instead, he maxed out at 2,334 yards and nine touchdowns in a season while throwing 25 interceptions over those three years.
While Wilson is expected to back up Tua Tagovailoa, who finished eighth on PFSN’s QB+ metric, his addition doesn’t fully address Miami’s concerns. Tagovailoa missed a big chunk of last season due to injury and has a history of concussions, with four of his five seasons ending in 13 games played or less. That means Miami’s quarterback dilemma isn’t going away just yet.
Wilson certainly isn’t the solution, but he could at least stabilize the offense if Tagovailoa misses extended time in 2025.
Examining the Dolphins’ Additions So Far
As free agency began, the Dolphins were quite active.
Grier bolstered his receiver room by signing Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, who is fresh off a career-high season. Westbrook-Ikhine registered a smidge under 500 yards and nine touchdowns for the league-worst Tennessee Titans.
Additionally, Miami signed playmaking and hard-hitting safety Ashtyn Davis from their division-rival New York Jets. In five years in the NFL, Davis has a career total of eight interceptions, along with 15 pass breakups.
He’s proven throughout his career to be a versatile player, and he does what’s asked of him.. In 2024, Davis managed to secure a career-high in tackles-for-loss with five.
The Dolphins also re-signed linebacker Tyrel Dodson, whom they claimed off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks in 2024, to a two-year extension. Dodson proved to be a worthy piece for Miami’s defense with a career-high three interceptions in eight games.
Thriving in Miami: Hill’s Dominance Since the Trade
When Hill was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to Miami in 2022, many questioned whether he could still produce at an elite level without Patrick Mahomes. Three years later, those doubts are long gone.
Hill wasted no time proving he could be a top-tier receiver outside of Kansas City. In his first season with Miami, he shattered career highs, posting 1,710 receiving yards and eight total touchdowns, earning first-team All-Pro honors. In 2023, he put up 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Hill’s chemistry with Tagovailoa has been electric, and he’s remained one of the most unguardable weapons in football. While his numbers took a slight dip in 2024, that was largely because Tagovailoa missed time with a concussion.
Hill has made it clear that he wants to win, so now he’s determined to lead Miami on a deep playoff run and turn the team into an AFC powerhouse.
Can we please just cut this clown and move on. He quit on the team!!!!!! He’s trash!!!!!!!!
