Dolphins star Tyreek Hill and USA’s world champion sprinter Noah Lyles have been chirping for quite some time — and the competitive banter has been rekindled. Lyles won the 60m final at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix track event and shot a message to Hill.
On the back of Lyles’s bib, it read “Tyreek could never.”
It takes some confidence to prematurely have that message prepared on the bib for after the race. But Lyles showed why he is a world champion sprinter and pulled out the victory by a tight margin.
Tyreek Hill’s Response to Noah Lyles
The Dolphins’ fleet-footed wideout took to X to respond to Lyles’ message with six simple words: “Get a load of this guy.”

Hill has always been known for his speed — he’s one of the fastest wide receivers in the NFL if not the fastest.
His feud with Lyles started when he was asked about Lyles’ infamous comments on the idea that American sports teams call themselves “world champions” when all the teams only come from the United States with the occasional Canadian team in the MLB, NBA, and NHL.
Hill’s response to that question included a challenge to Lyles to race. Hill backs himself to take down the reigning Olympic gold medalist in the 100m. Lyles and Hill have gone back and forth suggesting their supremacy over the other but no race has been set.
The trash talk has been frequent as both athletes keep going back and forth. They find humor in the other athletes thinking that they would win in a race.
Lyles is ready and waiting for whenever Hill wants to race. Hill’s season with the Dolphins has been over for about a month now, so there will be plenty of time for this race to transpire. It remains to be seen whether this race will transpire and someone will be able to claim indisputable bragging rights.
In 2023, Hill ran a 6.70 in a 60m track event while Lyles took the victory in the 2025 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix 60m with a time of 6.52 seconds. If this race does happen, it will be very entertaining with two of the fastest athletes squaring off to settle the history of trash talk they have.
