Miami Dolphins News, March 16: Terron Armstead Accepts Pay Cut, Miami’s Most Popular Targets in Mock Drafts, and More

Following the loss of several starters in free agency, the Miami Dolphins are beginning to bounce back this offseason. For Miami, Terron Armstead’s retirement decision was one of the biggest dominoes to fall this offseason.

    Miami Dolphins News Today

While Armstead was reportedly weighing retirement, he decided to take a pay cut to return to Miami and continue playing. Miami’s latest addition to its offensive line was introduced to the local media during his introductory press conference on Friday. All of that and more in today’s Dolphins news!

How Big of a Pay Cut Did Miami Dolphins OT Terron Armstead Take?

After deciding against retirement, Armstead restructured his contract with the Dolphins to free up salary cap space and remain with the team. At 33 years old, Armstead has dealt with several injuries over the last two seasons and could easily retire after next season.

Given the departure of Robert Hunt to the Carolina Panthers in free agency, it was important for Miami to work things out with Armstead. That allows the Dolphins to return their starting offensive tackle duo from last season and likely address the interior of their offensive line in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Miami has already added one interior offensive lineman this offseason, former Tennessee Titans center Aaron Brewer. The 26-year-old met with local media during his introductory press conference on Friday.

Brewer explained how his limited size has helped create the relentless mindset he has carried with him in the NFL. When asked about what position he will play in Miami, Brewer stated that he feels center is his desired position because of his size.
