‘Dolphins Are Cursed Forever’ – Fans React As Top 2025 NFL Draft Prospect Jalen Milroe Reveals Discussion With Miami

Dolphins fans reacted to the news of their team exploring options to select Jalen Milroe in the 2025 NFL Draft to serve as backup quarterback.

Jalen Milroe is one of the most talented players entering the 2025 NFL Draft. However, the Alabama star is not viewed as a first-round pick. Pro Football Network’s Jacob Infante has projected him to be a Day 2 pick, and various teams will be interested in taking a flyer on him.

According to reports, the Miami Dolphins have shown interest in Milroe as they have spoken to him at the Senior Bowl. While that doesn’t mean they will draft him — talks now between teams and players are incredibly exploratory — Dolphins fans didn’t react well.

Tagovailoa suffered the fourth diagnosed concussion of his career this past season, and there are concerns about his long-term future. As a result, the team planning a move for another quarterback doesn’t surprise many.

Unfortunately for Milroe, the majority of Dolphins fans on social media are not too thrilled by the idea of their team drafting him. Here are some of the reactions:

“Another mistake we’d make is drafting him in any round,” said a fan.

“I’m done with this organization,” wrote one fan.

“I do not think he’s that good, wouldn’t be a great get or good value assuming he goes 2nd or 3rd round,” said one Dolphins fan.

Another fan added, “I think it will take at least a second-round pick to get him, and I would rather use those picks elsewhere. He might even go in the first round.”

Since Alabama finished with a record of 9-4 and missed the playoffs, not many people are high on Milroe ahead of the draft. He is a dual-threat quarterback and has the physical tools to become the best quarterback of this year’s draft class, but he will need time to develop.

Milroe stands out as the most athletic quarterback in this draft, boasting a cannon for an arm and elite athleticism — rivaling even last year’s No. 1 pick, Caleb Williams. However, his accuracy in the 10-19-yard range needs improvement. If he sharpens his short and intermediate passing, Milroe’s game will be complete.

For now, his raw athleticism lets him outrun SEC linebackers, while his arm strength can deliver strikes to receivers with minimal separation. Development is key, but his natural gifts already set him apart.

Milroe threw for 2,844 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in 13 games for Alabama this past year. He completed 64.3% of his passes, but his rushing total of 726 yards and 20 touchdowns on 168 carries makes him an intriguing prospect.

A team could possibly hit the lottery by drafting him, but at the same time, Milroe could be a waste of a draft pick for a team like the Dolphins, who are trying to make a run at the playoffs and a Super Bowl.

Miami Has To Get a Quality Backup Quarterback for Next Season

If the Dolphins do not draft Milroe, they will have to get a quality backup quarterback to sit behind Tagovailoa. The Dolphins star played just 13 games this past season after dealing with a concussion early in the season and then a hip injury at the end.

Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill hinted at leaving the team after the Dolphins missed out on the playoffs but has now shown commitment to play for Miami. The franchise must have a contingency plan at QB in case anything happens again to Tagovailoa.

Drafting a quarterback will be a sound plan for the Dolphins as head coach Mike McDaniel can develop signal-callers. However, the team also has other areas of need they need to prioritize before drafting a backup for Tagovailoa.

Due to this, selecting Milroe early on Day 2 will be slightly risky for the franchise. Quarterbacks like Will Howard or Jaxson Dart could be available much later in the draft.

Miami could also re-sign Tyler Huntley, as he started five games for the team and will be much more familiar with the system than any other quarterback they decide to bring in.
