Dolphins 2024 Free Agents: Christian Wilkins, Connor Williams, and Andrew Van Ginkel Among Top Choices

    Published on

The Miami Dolphins have some big decisions to make on their 2024 free agents -- most notably Christian Wilkins, Connor Williams, and Andrew Van Ginkel.

Important decisions are to be made in the upcoming months for the Miami Dolphins‘ 2024 free agents, both on the offensive and defensive side of the football.

Who will the team re-sign to a new contract, and who is packing their bags and taking their talents elsewhere?

Who Are the Miami Dolphins’ Upcoming Free Agents?

    DT Christian Wilkins

Nearing the start of the 2023 season, GM Chris Grier said he made an offer to Christian Wilkins’ representatives he thought was a “fair” deal.

Wilkins played this past season on the fifth-year option, allowing the former Clemson standout to earn just under $11 million. Unless Miami utilizes the franchise tag, with that specific window opening Feb. 20 at 4:00 p.m. ET, Wilkins’ career as a Dolphin may be finished.

    C Connor Williams

Signed in March of 2022 on a two-year deal, Connor Williams suffered a season-ending ACL injury in the Dolphins’ 28-27 loss vs. the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football this past December. It was the second time in Williams’ professional career he tore his ACL. He also dealt with a groin issue that kept him out for four games.

While with the Dallas Cowboys earlier in his career, Williams played mostly at the guard spot, but the transition to center during his two years on Dolphins panned out extremely well.

    LB Andrew Van Ginkel

Andrew Van Ginkel, who played his college football at the University of Wisconsin, had a season to remember in 2023.

During the absence of Jaelan Phillips, who was lost late in the season with a torn Achilles, Van Ginkel lined up at the EDGE position and made his presence felt almost every snap, including on a pick-six in Miami’s dismembering of the Washington Commanders in Week 13. The talented linebacker tallied a career-best six sacks and eight passes defended in 2023.

Van Ginkel suffered a season-ending foot injury in Miami’s 21-14 Week 18 loss vs. Buffalo, but agent Drew Rosenhaus said his client “wants to be back with the Miami Dolphins in 2024 and beyond.”

    G Robert Hunt

Robert Hunt, a 2020 second-round selection, missed extended action for the first time in his career this season because of an issue with his hamstring. When healthy, however, Hunt is one of the top guards in the league.
