Tom Brady and Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis have discussed a deal where Brady would purchase a minority ownership in the franchise.

Tom Brady has done it all during his illustrious Hall of Fame career, and he will be enshrined in Canton, Ohio, once eligible. Brady is the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) and has accomplished more individually, in a professional team sport, than any other NFL player. Leaving that world behind must be difficult, so Brady remains involved.

Brady has earned a fortune throughout his playing career and as a spokesperson for several product lines. Brady could walk off into the sunset and spend the rest of his life in retirement kicking back and relaxing on a tropical island, but instead, the football lifer has decided to go another route. How is he involved with the Las Vegas Raiders?

From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

Is Tom Brady the Owner of the Las Vegas Raiders?

Brady is not THE owner of the Raiders. Mark Davis, the son of Al Davis, remains the majority owner of the Raiders franchise. Mark’s father is synonymous with the Raiders’ Silver and Black tradition, and Mark carries on the ownership in his father’s image.

Brady is negotiating to become a minority owner of the Raiders franchise. The opportunity to become a minority owner became an option, and the future Hall of Famer wouldn’t pass up the opportunity. Negotiations have hit a snag, but the pursuit remains real.

    Why Own the Raiders?

Many NFL fans found Brady’s decision to become the minority owner of the Raiders curious. Why the Raiders? Brady played almost his entire NFL career with the New England Patriots. Brady left New England to play in Tampa Bay, where he won another Super Bowl.

From all accounts, Brady has great relationships remaining in both organizations. Brady returned to New England to have his uniform honored during the home opener this season. Patriots owner Robert Kraft revers and loves Brady, so why wouldn’t Brady become a minority owner of the Patriots organization?

For starters, we don’t know if the concept of owning the Patriots was ever discussed or even on the table. Kraft may want to keep that in-house and within his own family. As for the Buccaneers, there has been no indication given that ownership was an option for the Tampa Bay franchise.

Brady grew up in the Bay area, a fan of the San Francisco 49ers, and he feels strongly for the Raiders’ historic franchise.

“My favorite team was the 49ers. The team across the bay was the Raiders. And, you know, they’re an iconic NFL franchise. When I look at a lot of the people that have impacted the NFL over a long period of time in the most positive way, Al Davis is one of them. And he’s not with us anymore, but I’ve heard incredible stories.”

Brady’s role in Las Vegas will be passive and won’t conflict with his gig as a broadcaster for FOX beginning in 2024.
