DK Metcalf has had his name pop up in trade rumors recently. The two-time Pro Bowl receiver didn’t crack 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in three years. The Seattle Seahawks have been willing to take some calls for a potential Metcalf trade. A few receiver-hungry teams are considering throwing their name in the hat to potentially acquire Metcalf.
The NFL Scouting Combine is a time when trade talks start to heat up as teams look to solidify their draft boards and prepare their rosters for their new offseason acquisitions. In this case, this also means teams look at their roster and potentially decide to move off of certain players.

Rumors Surrounding DK Metcalf’s Future
Metcalf has been the main receiver in Seattle for nearly every year of his six-year career. His durability is very good as he only logged less than 16 games played once in his career, whereas this year, he played in 15.
Yet, the Seahawks have decided to entertain offers for Metcalf’s services. His future with the Seahawks isn’t over but some signs point toward the possibility of an exit.
“Coming off a somewhat down season by his standards, the Seahawks have at least been willing to listen to offers for DK Metcalf,” said Seahawks insider Corbin Smith.
Smith reported that a few teams have entered the sweepstakes, but one team is currently seen as the best candidate so far.

The Green Bay Packers believe that they have the package to convince the Seahawks to trade Metcalf to them. With potential young receivers like Dontayvion Wicks or Romeo Doubs that the Seahawks have had previous interest in, the Packers can put themselves in a position to upgrade their receiver with a guy like Metcalf.
Metcalf would have been their number-one receiver with 992 receiving yards. Green Bay’s leading receiver last season was Jayden Reed, who had 857 receiving yards. Metcalf would be an immense addition for Jordan Love and the Packers’ offense while giving Love a proven number-one receiver.
The New England Patriots have inquired preliminarily about Metcalf’s services, as well as an unnamed mystery team. The Patriots need to provide Drake Maye with competent weapons after being surrounded by poor pass-catching options last season.
The unnamed team, likely needs a proven offensive weapon to give to a quarterback who hasn’t been given receivers up to the team’s standards.
Metcalf would bring a history of success to whatever team is lucky to land him. He could very well end up back in Seattle once again, but the cracks are beginning to show for a potential breakup. The Seahawks aren’t in a rush to move Metcalf, but GM John Schneider’s willingness to listen to offers has left the door open for a potential trade.
