After a questionable Week 1, the Seattle Seahawks’ offense looked to be firing on all cylinders on Sunday in a win over the Detroit Lions. Unfortunately, in the middle of the offensive success was star WR DK Metcalf going down to injury and having to leave the field. After a few days, fantasy football managers have been wondering — where does Metcalf and his injury stand?

What Happened to DK Metcalf?
While on the road to a solid fantasy day on Sunday, Metcalf took an aggressive hit to the ribs and had to exit the field and head to the locker room. He did return later in the game and finished the day playing 83% of the total snaps. Metcalf caught all six of his targets for 75 yards.

Metcalf missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday but returned to practice on Friday in a limited fashion. He will be listed as questionable for Sunday’s game at home against the Carolina Panthers. It has been reported that he is on track to play, and the rib issue is simply a pain management issue and will not limit his movement or ability to run.

Metcalf himself said, “I’m feeling pretty good. I’m always at 100 percent.”
What Are Seattle’s Options If Metcalf Misses Time?
Even though it seems that Metcalf will go in Week 3, he can always have a setback. If he misses any time, WR Tyler Lockett should be the beneficiary of more targets. Metcalf had five targets in Week 1, where he played the entire game, and six in Week 2. TE Noah Fant could also step up. Fant had four targets last week.
What Does This Mean for Metcalf’s Fantasy Ranking?
According to our PFN Consensus Rankings, Metcalf is currently WR14. Since this is simply a pain management issue, I see no need to lower Metcalf in the rankings. He is the alpha in Seattle, and I am confident he will play through any pain.
