Did Shedeur Sanders Just Reveal Who Is Planning To Draft Him? Viral Clip Seems To Suggest Potential Landing Spot

Did Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders hint at a possible destination during an interview with NFL Network at the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl?

The New York Giants are in the market for a new quarterback after a disastrous 2024 campaign. They started the season with Daniel Jones before turning to Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock down the stretch.

They own the third overall pick, but speculation about them potentially trading up to first overall in the 2025 NFL Draft is rampant. The Giants need a franchise-changing piece under center.

“We’re going to be open to anything,” Giants GM Joe Schoen said via the team’s official website. We’re in a good position, sitting at three with the players that are available. By process of elimination, we know we’re going to get a good player.” But did an NFL prospect already hint at who the Giants have in mind?

Shedeur Sanders Drops Major Hint on Giants’ Interest

The top two quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft are Cam Ward (Miami) and Sheduer Sanders (Colorado). The only real question seems to be which player goes earlier in the first round and to which quarterback-needy NFL franchise?

Sanders recently gave a sideline interview on NFL Network while taking in the East-West Shrine Bowl Game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Standing on the Dallas Cowboys’ home turf, Sanders hinted that he’d be playing in the same stadium very soon, although it wouldn’t be for the Cowboys.

Instead, he would presumably be suiting up for the Giants, one of their divisional rivals in the NFC East.

“Being in this stadium is definitely fun,” Sanders said. “I know I’ll play here very soon against the Cowboys. It’s definitely a dream come true being able to be at this bowl game, being able to watch my brothers out there, watching my teammates.”

Interesting comment. It should be noted that Pro Football Network’s first mock draft had Sanders sliding to the sixth pick and going to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Giants traded up — swapping picks with the Titans — to grab Ward first overall in that one.

Giants Interview Sanders at Shrine Bowl

Schoen mentioned that he got to talk with Sanders during an interaction at the East-West Shrine Bowl. The Giants had two coaches — defensive coordinator Shane Bowen and inside linebackers coach John Egorugw — on staff for the West team, giving them an even more vested interest in the game.

Everyone praised Sanders, especially Schoen, who hyped up his football lineage and famous dad while saying he “checks all the boxes.”

“He’s a great kid, he’s a great kid, a really good personality, football smart, his dad is a football coach … it was good getting to meet him,” Schoen said via the Giants’ website. “He’s had a really good career at Colorado and, obviously, looking forward to getting to knowing all those guys in the rest of the process.”

Sanders was the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2024 and finished eighth in Heisman Trophy voting (47 points, one first-place vote). He threw for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns last year at Colorado. He also posted a 74.0 completion percentage and 168.2 quarterback rating, the fifth-best passer rating in FBS for the year.
