Bills vs. Jets Top MNF DFS Picks on DraftKings

The MNF contests on DraftKings feature the Showdown competition, where you select a team captain that multiplies a player’s production by 1.5. Let’s take a closer look at our DFS fantasy football picks for Monday Night Football.

Garrett Wilson, WR, New York Jets ($15,600)

The second-year wide receiver is a popular breakout candidate in 2023 after getting a significant upgrade with Aaron Rodgers under center.

In fact, Garrett Wilson didn’t need MVP-caliber QB play to give the Bills secondary issues last season. In New York’s two games against Buffalo last year, Wilson caught a minimum of six passes and 78 receiving yards.

Now that Rodgers is the starting quarterback, expect Wilson to be the focal point of a Jets passing attack, which will see him continue to produce against the Bills and top both of these lines.

If he sees the type of volume that leading pass catchers are generally accustomed to in Rodgers-led offenses, then Wilson is more than deserving of this captain tag to start the season.

Aaron Rodgers, QB, New York Jets ($9,800)

Per the usual DFS strategy, I want to invest in my QB-WR stack to maximize my hit rate between these two players.

Sure, Josh Allen comes with a rushing upside that Rodgers doesn’t really possess at this point in his career, but Allen really struggled against the Jets defense last season, and I could see Rodgers beginning his revenge tour by peppering Wilson early, often, and throughout this contest.

If Rodgers is truly out to prove that the Green Bay Packers made a mistake by drafting his replacement prematurely, then he has a national stage to put on a vintage Rodgers performance.

James Cook, RB, Buffalo Bills ($8,000)

The Bills stated during this offseason that they see James Cook with three-down potential in the NFL. After a successful preseason campaign, Cook enters the season as the leading back in one of the most high-powered NFL offenses.

The Bills made that clear when they decided not to bring back Devin Singletary this offseason, which means Cook should see an expanded role in this backfield to start the season.

Cook averaged 5.77 yards per carry in his rookie season. If he maintains anywhere near that efficiency with an expanded role, expect him to be involved on the ground and a pass-catching mismatch for the Jets’ linebackers in his 2023 debut.

Dalton Kincaid, TE, Buffalo Bills ($5,000)

Speaking of debuts, Bills fans are excited about Dalton Kincaid’s first bit of game action in the NFL after a fantastic training camp.

New York’s secondary features one of the best cornerbacks in the league in Sauce Gardner. The good thing for Kincaid is that he’s unlikely to see much of Sauce in this matchup, and the fact that he won’t be matching up against one of the league’s elite corners should make him more likely to get some looks.

If a couple of those looks wind up being in the red zone, then Kincaid is certainly possible for finding pay dirt in his NFL debut.
