Recently, Colorado star and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter has been in the news for non-football reasons, as his fiancĂ©e Leanna Lenee has been receiving a ton of criticism. After NFL legend Dez Bryant warned Hunter about Lenee, former NFL star and current podcaster Adam “Pacman” Jones chimed in with a harsh message for Bryant.
Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones Tells Dez Bryant To ‘Shut The F*** Up’
Bryant just doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut, according to Jones.
The former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver stuck his nose in the mess surrounding the Colorado star and his fiancee. People have been spreading rumors about Hunter and Lenee’s relationship since Hunter took home the Heisman Trophy earlier this month.
Some people in sports and entertainment have tried to give Hunter unsolicited advice as to how to deal with the problem. All this did was cause Hunter to go silent and delete his social media accounts. Bryant had a lot to say about the situation and added fuel to the fire.
In his latest post on X (formerly known as Twitter), while sharing his advice to Hunter, Bryant said, “I’ve tried my best not to get into Travis’ business..but I had to after seeing this… I’m here to tell you, brother…, wake up and quit playing.”
“She talked all that s**t about you.., saying she was going to address the situation once, but kept talking about it…She loves the attention way more than you..she thinks she’s an equal to you…I can tell you’re a great dude.., and I promise there’s a woman out there who’s going to make your life easy and respect you…From what I see..she has nothing to offer but a f*****g headache.”
Jones tore into Bryant this week for inserting himself into the drama.
“I have no advice for Travis Hunter,” Jones said. “I don’t understand how somebody else can have advice about what he likes. This is what he likes. Y’all don’t know what this lady is doing to him behind closed doors. Y’all don’t know how she pleases him. Obviously, he’s pleased.
“I’ve never seen grown f***ing athletes go to Twitter and talk about another player’s relationship. I don’t even know if Dez has a girl — and Dez is my boy — but, like, come on, Dez, shut the f*** up. You don’t know anything about relationships. I don’t even know what relationships you’ve been in.”
Hunter is no stranger to the spotlight. However, his fiancée is currently at the center of controversy. The couple faced scrutiny after a viral incident at a fan event. While the 21-year-old college football star interacted with supporters, his fiancée reportedly expressed her frustration, saying, “What do you want me to do … I just sit here then.”
Since then, Lenee has faced a lot of criticism from fans on social media, all of whom have shown their concerns over her attitude. Hunter has gone to lengths to defend his partner and said, “You ain’t never had no girl. So why y’all talk about me? … You talk about my girl! Go talk about your girl. Go find a girl, go find a life. … I know my girl. My girl’s been with me for five years; y’all just now started talking about me.”
He also mentioned that facing such backlash has affected Lenee psychologically quite badly. However, the fans (and athletes) haven’t stopped criticizing her.
Shedeur Sanders took to social media to try and diffuse the situation, which prompted a response from Bryant.
“All y’all athletes, entertainers, artist etc if y’all genuine trying to holla at trav y’all know how to get in touch with him or someone around. At this point y’all just posting for the algorithm trying to look cool.” Sanders posted.
And, of course, Bryant couldn’t simply let that go, as he sent a lengthy response to Shedeur trying to convince the young superstar that he really had Hunter’s best interests at heart.
“Forever love for you and Travis, but I can almost guarantee that nobody wouldn’t have said nothing if she hadn’t disrespected him publicly on social media… She invited the world’s opinions into her business. I’m happy to see people.. artist.. entertainers athletes .., including myself, come to his defense.. It’s been way too many negative stories about athletes and the wrong women…We all know who’s going to get the short end of the stick if something happens.. the media going to report it the culture going to eat it up and talk crazy… It’s about time we look out for one another..; I’m speaking from experience and a genuine place… Trav ain’t just anybody!”
Hunter will play his final collegiate game on Saturday when Colorado faces BYU in the Alamo Bowl.
