‘They Beat the S*** Out of Us’ – $87,500,000 Giants Star Furious After 30–7 Beatdown at the Hands of Buccaneers

    Published on

New York Giants star Dexter Lawrence was extremely disappointed with how the team played in the 30-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The New York Giants suffered a devastating 30-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12. This loss came days after the franchise released Daniel Jones, a move that wasn’t very popular among the team’s players.

Tommy DeVito started the game for the Giants, and the offense failed to score a single point in the first three-quarters of the game. New York has now lost six straight games as pressure continues to arise on Brian Daboll.

Dexter Lawrence Speaks on Blowout Loss to Buccaneers

Dexter Lawrence, arguably the Giants’ best player, was “extremely” angry about the team’s performance. “We played soft, and they beat the s**t out of us today,” said the star DT, per The Athletic’s Dan Duggan.

Lawrence, the 17th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, is having the best season of his career. In 11 games this season, he has recorded 21 solo tackles, 21 assists, one forced fumble, and 9.0 sacks.

The two-time Pro Bowler signed a four-year, $87.5 million contract extension last year. He is visibly upset with how the team has gone from making the playoffs in 2022 to fighting for the first overall pick this year.

Malik Nabers, the Giants’ best offensive player this year, also expressed his views on the team’s loss to the Buccaneers. He labeled the team’s performance “Soft as f***” and pointed out that the quarterback is not the reason the team is losing.

In the loss to the Buccaneers, the Giants were outgained by 205 yards. Baker Mayfield had a dominating performance, throwing for 294 yards and completing 80% of his throws. Four Tampa Bay players rushed for a touchdown in Week 12, highlighting the NFC East team’s flaws.

With Jones no longer on the team, Daboll will be blamed the most for the team’s performance. The Giants might end up making a coaching change if the results do not change quickly.

Giants Are Unlikely To Win Again This Season

The road doesn’t get any easier for Daboll and the Giants. They are 2-9 on the season, and there is a good chance that they will not win again this season. These are their remaining fixtures:

Before Week 12, many would have thought that the Giants could win against the Cowboys, but that is no longer the case. Dallas came up with a big win against the Washington Commanders this week and will be favored to win the Thanksgiving game against New York.

No matter how bad Jones was, the team still had a chance to win with him as the quarterback. Giants fans should already start looking forward to the 2025 NFL Draft, as it’s unlikely they’ll get to celebrate anything else in the remaining games of this season.

New York will likely draft a quarterback in the draft, but it remains to be seen whether Daboll will be given an opportunity to continue with the team.
