With under three minutes left in the fourth quarter of Week 17, Philadelphia Eagles WR DeVonta Smith went down with an injury. Not only did the Eagles lose their shot at the No. 1 seed against the Arizona Cardinals, but they may have lost their No. 2 WR for some time.
DeVonta Smith Injury Update
On a short 3rd-and-19 pass to Kenneth Gainwell, Smith was rolled up on from behind while blocking and was in obvious pain.

Smith went to the locker room and was unable to re-enter the contest, even on the final Hail Mary to try and salvage a win against the Cardinals. Based on the video and the nature of the injury, a high ankle sprain is the biggest concern, putting Smith’s Week 18 availability in jeopardy.

Smith ended the day with three catches and 30 yards on five targets. If he does indeed miss next week’s game against the New York Giants, expect an uptick in targets for A.J. Brown, Dallas Geodert, and even Julio Jones, who hauled in both receptions for touchdowns today.
Following the contest, Smith was seen in crutches and a walking boot for his right foot while in the locker room.
Fantasy Fallout From Smith’s Injury
Goedert has seen plenty of volume over the past three weeks and even found paydirt in Week 17, his first score since October. His value ticks up as a result of this injury, locking him into the top 10 for the final week of the regular season.
Brown remains an elite option, and while this gives Jalen Hurts one fewer option through the air, his value remains as high as anyone at the position, given his value on the ground and Philadelphia’s need for the game.
You could argue that D’Andre Swift sees his value moving in the right direction, but his change in value is minimal, and he remains a fine RB2 with a limited range of outcomes.
