Devin Singletary averaged over 5.1 yards per touch last season for the Bills and has been an efficient option during his four NFL seasons. But is he a fantasy football asset in 2023 now that he is behind a potential budding star in the Houston Texans‘ Dameon Pierce?

Singletary’s Fantasy Outlook for the 2023 NFL Season
C.J. Stroud takes over an offense that was trailing for 59.7% of their snaps and has nowhere to go but up. The Pierce/Singletary backfield dup should help alleviate some of the pressure on the rookie, but there is no denying that Stroud is going to be asked to do a lot in his first season.
If this team can overachieve in terms of scoring opportunities, they are going to need their receivers to improve in short order. Nico Collins is a prospect we all like, but is he ready to be the WR1 in this offense? Robert Woods is 31 years old and has just 98 catches over the past two seasons, while Tank Dell and John Metchie III have yet to catch a pass that counts.
Dalton Schultz was brought in from Dallas this offseason to add stability to this offense, but even he could be in a fight for looks with Dalton Keene getting some early reps this preseason.
Is Singletary a Good Fantasy Pick?
For me, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze here. Singletary is a fine player, but the franchise is more committed to seeing Pierce grow, and I’m not even sold that the lead option in this backfield is going to retain weekly value as it is.
3. #Texans Dameon Pierce played every snap (including 3rd-downs) during his 23 preseason snaps. Devin Singletary came on for the third drive in each.
If that 3rd-down usage is sticky to regular season, it's very notable. Pierce only played about 25% of 3rd-downs last season.

In his ADP range, you can take a flier on a much better offense and select a Dolphins running back. Or you could get a backup in a better offense by way of Tank Bigsby or Kenneth Gainwell. Rookie Roschon Johnson in Chicago could earn reps as time goes on and prove to be a valuable commodity in the second half of the draft.
It’s a pass for me … in all formats.
