Denver Broncos 7-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft grabs Daniel Faalele to close out Round 2

Making the selections through all seven rounds of a 2022 NFL Mock Draft for the Denver Broncos, including Daniel Faalele in Round 2.

With a new quarterback and a rebuilt roster, the Denver Broncos will close out Round 2 with their first selection in the 2022 NFL Draft. Just which direction will they go, and who should you be aware of ahead of the three-day event? Let our final mock draft on behalf of the Broncos explain all you need to know.

Denver Broncos 2022 7-Round Mock Draft

Here are projections of every pick the Denver Broncos could make within a 7-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft, with the Pro Football Network staff as the general manager. This is what we would do with the picks after the board shook out while doing a full 7-round, 32-team mock draft.

Round 2, Pick 64 (from LAR): Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota

The Denver Broncos stand pat and get their man. Daniel Faalele is the top right tackle on my board and in the conversation for one of the best tackles overall in this class. He’s a massive man with a terrific strength and speed combination. At 6’8″ and 384 pounds, Faalele will overwhelm most pass rushers that he gets his hands on. The Broncos now have a pair of bookend tackles for Russell Wilson.

Other players in consideration: Abraham Lucas, OT, Washington State

Round 3, Pick 70 (mock trade from ARI via JAX): Boye Mafe, EDGE, Minnesota

Mock Trade: The Broncos send pick Nos. 75, 115, 116, and 235 to the Jaguars in exchange for Jacksonville’s pick Nos. 70, 106, and 198.

Rumors Boye Mafe being liked by the Chiefs in Round 1 may be true — but as acting GM for all the teams, Mafe doesn’t go until now. That is no indictment of his skill or presence on the field, rather just how the board and draft have shaped up.

As such, with him still being here at pick No. 70 — the Broncos send four picks to move up five spots. Sure, they get three picks back in response, but Mafe in return for the capital being moved would be enough. He’s flashed high-level potential and may have been underutilized in the Minnesota system. This is a potential gem of the draft for Denver.

Other players in consideration: Denver traded up specifically for Mafe, so no other prospects were considered.

Round 3, Pick 96 (from LAR): Jelani Woods, TE, Virginia

There’s a world where Jelani Woods is actually picked with Denver’s earlier Day 2 selection. But after moving up for Mafe, the Broncos stay at No. 96 and still get their tight end of the future. With a massive frame, Woods impressed with his athleticism and route running at Virginia in 2021 and at the Shrine Bowl. He’s multi-versed with his receiving ability as well as his documented success as an inline blocker during his time at Oklahoma State.

Other players in consideration: Chigoziem Okonkwo, TE, Maryland

Round 4, Pick 106 (from JAC): Tyler Allgeier, RB, BYU

As part of their trade with Jacksonville to get Mafe, the Broncos also received the first pick of the fourth round. They grab Tyler Allgeier, who has a similar skill set to current Broncos running back Javonte Williams. Allgeier is a deceptively fast running back with some of the best contact balance we’ve seen in years.

Other players in consideration: Tyler Badie, RB, Missouri; Isaiah Spiller, RB, Texas A&M

Round 5, Pick 145 (from DET): Thomas Booker, DT, Stanford

A student of the game, Thomas Booker is one of the most technically advanced and intelligent pass rushers in this draft. He’s also a solid addition in run defense. Booker can play inside or outside and win all the same. And his value improves once you talk to him off the field, where he’ll be a coach and player favorite.

Other players in consideration: Tariq Castro-Fields, CB, Penn State; Kalon Barnes, CB, Baylor

Round 6, Pick 198 (from PIT via JAC): Allie Green IV, CB, Missouri

A long corner with a larger game, Allie Green IV had a terrific collegiate career. Hidden a bit by the Missouri system on defense and during the pre-draft process, Green is every bit of a top prospect. He’s fast and strong, long and lean, and sticky in coverage. Green can line up in a variety of alignments to boot.

Other players in consideration: Ja’Sir Taylor, CB, Wake Forest; Vincent Gray, CB, Michigan

Round 6, Pick 206 (from TB via NYJ via PHI): Chance Campbell, LB, Ole Miss

One of the most athletically-gifted linebackers in this class, Chance Campbell put up All-World type numbers in his final college season. Campbell then tested incredibly well, yet somehow is still underrated. If he picks up his processing at the NFL level — as he showed he could do at Ole Miss — Campbell would be in for a bevy of snaps early and often in his NFL career.

Other players in consideration: Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, EDGE/DT, Notre Dame; Josh Ross, LB, Michigan

Round 7, Pick 232: Tyreke Smith, EDGE, Ohio State

Doubling down on edge defenders from the Big Ten, Denver makes Tyreke Smith their final pick. Smith is a talented pass rusher with some athletic limitations. But he still presents large upside with his size and strength. Finding favorable matchups and situational pass-rush reps for him would pay dividends for the overall health of the Broncos’ unit in 2022 and beyond.

Other players in consideration: Kolby Harvell-Peel, S, Oklahoma State; Tre Sterling, S, Oklahoma State
