Though Deion Sanders has no wish to leave Colorado despite his two sons declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft, the media has speculated that he could take up an NFL coaching job, potentially where his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, gets drafted.
This has led Coach Prime to get such questions every time he turns up for press conferences. And now it seems he’s fed up as he turns to American rapper Ice Cube for advice.
Ice Cube Avoids Giving Direct Answer to Deion Sanders’ Question for Advice
“Okay, I need your advice,” Sanders asked Ice Cube who’s worth $160 million.

During Sanders’ recent appearance on Tubi’s “We Got Time Today,” the Colorado Buffaloes head coach asked Ice Cube what he would be if he were in his position, facing questions from the media every day concerning the NFL gig.
Out of respect for Sanders, though, the rapper instead opted out to answer, saying:
“I wouldn’t tell you what to do, bro. You make all the greatest decisions. But I would like your advice. I’m pretty sure the kids would love to keep you here. Colorado has probably made a lot of money while you’ve been here, and you’d be like a king walking around the campus.
“I do love it, and I’m pretty sure you do too. But wherever you are, man, it’s going to be great. And wherever you leave, people are going to miss you. That’s just it.”
Ice Cube Appreciates What Sanders Is Doing for Young Kids Get to Pro Level
There’s no reason to believe NFL teams wouldn’t want Sanders leading their teams. However, Coach Prime has remained adamant to stay at the college level and help young kids instead of coaching egoistic, highly paid NFL players.
Ice Cube appreciates Sanders’ efforts to help kids get to the next level.
“Man, I’m proud of you, bro. What you’ve done, despite all the critics, and what they don’t see, but I know you’re doing, is making great human beings, great men,” the rapper said.
“You’re turning these kids around. Everybody talks about the glitz, the glamour, the NIL, and all that stuff, but they’re not there every day when you’re talking to those kids, changing their minds, and turning them into productive citizens outside of the game. That’s right. You’re a good dude. I’m really happy to see you working with youngsters and helping them get to the next level in life or sports.”
Sanders’ efforts seem to have received the deserved applause. After a disappointing 4-8 season in 2023, Coach Prime, in his second year, turned around the program to be bowl-eligible and potentially have a spot in a Big 12 Championship Game. A College Football Playoff spot is also not out of reach.
