Deion Sanders, the Colorado Buffaloes head coach and an NFL legend, made headlines with an emotional message for his former players at the East-West Shrine Bowl. Six Buffaloes, including Sanders’ sons, Shilo Sanders and Shedeur Sanders, represent Colorado in the all-star game.
Deion Sanders Shares ‘Proud’ Message for Colorado Athletes
Speaking at practice, Coach Prime couldn’t hold back his pride, saying, “Just watched practice with the guys, man, I’m so proud of them. Just seeing — all to see you guys in these East-West Shrine practice uniforms going there and giving it their all.”
“They only know one speed, and that’s all speed. That is 100. I’m so proud, like a proud daddy right now. You know, sending them off to the NFL. They are prepared, they are equipped, but most of all, they’re ready,” added Coach Prime.

Shilo Sanders is one of the six players giving his heart out at practice, trying his best to impress scouts before the NFL Combine and the 2025 NFL Draft in April. The 24-year-old safety is sweating it out with drills, trying to regain his rhythm after overcoming injuries that sidelined him for much of the 2024 college football season.
The Buffs HC also advised his son, as seen in the behind-the-scenes video from Well Off Media, “You’re thinking too much. Just motor. Your feet got to stay square.”
Shilo’s recovery from shoulder surgery and a broken forearm shows a never-say-die attitude that will bode well in the NFL.
The Buffaloes are heavily represented at the Shrine Bowl, with wide receivers LaJohntay Wester, Jimmy Horn Jr., and Will Sheppard and safety Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig joining the Sanders brothers. Coach Prime also took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to cheer on the Colorado athletes. “I Love every one of these young men like they’re my own,” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, a projected top-five NFL Draft pick, chose to sit out the game but was the talk of the town as he met with several teams.
