‘I’m Going To Coach in College Football’ – When NFL Legend Deion Sanders Made Huge Predictions About His Future

Over the years, NFL legend Deion Sanders has developed himself to be a brand ambassador of football by all means. From coaching to brandishing his ideologies, Coach Prime has been the center of attention.

Five years ago, Sanders made a huge prediction about his future. He claimed he’d coach football players at the collegiate level and develop them to be a NFL-worthy prospect. He was not sure about where he would go, but mentioned that a right call at the right time could convince him to join the program.

When Deion Sanders Spilled the Beans on His Intentions To Coach at College Level

This was the time when Shedeur and Shilo Sanders were still in high school and Coach Prime was looking for a university to have his kids play. During an interview in Miami on the eve of the Super Bowl LIV game between the Niners and the Chiefs, Sanders opened up about his future.

He mentioned that NFL coaching was not in the cards, but taking up jobs at the college level could possibly come to fruition soon. He mentioned having received multiple calls and was waiting for the right opportunity. When asked if he had a deal in place, Sanders refused to give a definite answer.

“No, I’m not going to say that, but I’m going to be a coach,” he said on the show.

“I could go nowhere but, but I’m open. I’m open. It has to fit me. I have to fit them. They gotta understand I come with some stuff. I come with, not luggage, but I come with — I want to win. I want to do it a certain way,” he added.

When asked how Sanders wants to proceed with coaching and his strategies, he mentioned that he needs overall control and intends to revolutionize the notion of amateur coaching.

“Uh, wide open, wide open offense, but versatile, versatility; get the ball in the hands of the playmakers, that’s my philosophy. But not just RPOs, but everything you see in college. I mean, you gotta understand the personnel you have and run offense based on what you have at hand,” Sanders said.

Before joining Colorado, Sanders signed with Jackson State and coached for three years in the program. He led the team to two back-to-back SWAC championships. The Hall of Faner intends to continue this trail in Boulder by winning a College Football Playoff National Championship.
