LaJohntay Wester’s 2025 NFL Draft Projection
Wester had a strong campaign receiving passes from star quarterback Shedeur Sanders and was extremely productive playing alongside Travis Hunter as well. On the year, Wester had 74 receptions for 931 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in the process.
In Pro Football Network’s latest 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Wester was selected in the sixth round, No. 215 overall by the Los Angeles Chargers. The move makes sense for both parties as the Chargers, though they found a superstar at receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft by means of Ladd McConkey, the team struggled at times this year by not having more depth on the outside for star quarterback Justin Herbert.
Wester is an extremely quick player who is also able to make contested catches. He has strong hands and is a good route runner who can change direction with ease and sharpness. The combination of these traits allow Wester to easily create separation in a multitude of ways depending on the situation needed. His speed will also make him a great run-after-catch threat for whichever team he is playing for.
While it remains to be seen where he is drafted this upcoming April, it is evident that Sanders believes that Wester has all of the skills and abilities necessary to succeed at the professional level and the NFL.
