Colorado head coach Deion Sanders did not hold back regarding false reports about his son, Shedeur Sanders, and his NFL future.

On Monday, a parody account by the name of Wesley Steinberg circulated rumors about the Colorado QB’s plans and Coach Prime’s alleged involvement in the draft process. Within hours, the accusations were proven to be false, and Sanders came forward to call out the baseless rumors going viral on social media.

Deion Sanders Issues Stern Warning for False Reports

After the Buffaloes’ Alamo Bowl showdown, the spotlight has been shifted to Shedeur Sanders and his plans to play in the NFL. He has been continuously linked to the New York Giants, but after a major shakeup in the NFL Draft order following Week 17 games, the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans have come into the picture.

Thus, the scene was set for social media to be fooled by “reports” about Sanders not being willing to play for Cleveland and Tennessee.

Instantly, this spread like wildfire; the parody account has over 18,000 followers. To clear the air around the rumors, Coach Prime asked fans to ignore the posts. He joked that if he was pulling the strings from afar, he’d go right to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

“It will be multiple IDIOTS that will say things that totally aren’t true regarding where I would like @ShedeurSanders & @ShiloSanders to play in the @nfl,” Sanders posted. “If I say it I will say it directly to whom it may concern not (an) attention seeker. I do know @nflcommish personally!”

A couple of hours after this message, the parody account “clarified” that he reported on information from Giants beat writer Art Stapleton. However, this was merely the troll trying to create more chaos.

Stapleton immediately denied the parody’s claims and offered a warning to the bad-faith actor.

As for the 2025 NFL Draft, New York no longer has the No. 1 overall pick. The Giants have fallen to No. 4 after beating the Indianapolis Colts, meaning Sanders and Miami quarterback Cam Ward could be off the board before they’re on the clock.

Both Tennessee and Cleveland could draft a quarterback with a top pick, upping the ante for New York’s offseason. If the draft order stands after Week 18, the Giants may feel pressured to trade for the No. 1 pick, jumping the rest of the pack and ensuring nobody else cuts them in line for a passer.

There’s a lot to be figured out in the months before the NFL Draft, but Sanders forcing his way to a destination isn’t one of them, no matter what internet trolls suggest.
