Former NFL Player and Colorado Head Coach Deion Sanders Gets His LeBron James-Gifted Shoes Intercepted by Travis Hunter

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders lost a gem out of his collection to Buffaloes wide receiver Travis Hunter.

While the Sanders kids fight for their lives to secure a top spot in Deion Sanders’ special kids’ rankings, one more Colorado prodigy might give them a run for their money, and it’s none other than Travis Hunter.

Hunter and Coach Prime share a special bond. We’ve seen Sanders appreciating Colorado’s two-way star’s electrifying playing abilities, but that’s not all — the duo also spends time together fishing in Lake Prime.

After Hunter’s spectacular performance in Week 4 against the Baylor Bears, where the Buffaloes bagged a 38-31 nailbiting win, the projected first-round pick wasted no time asking for a special prize for his performance from his coach.

In Hunter’s latest vlog on his YouTube channel, where he shares his thought process behind making the game-winning play, he’s seen demanding Sanders’ prized possession, LeBron James-gifted sneakers.

While checking the shoes out, Hunter says: “LeBron’s, LeBron’s … appreciate you,” Hunter said. “I know you sent these to Coach Prime; he ain’t never heard of me, though. I like to take shoes. I did my job, man. I got some offensive stats and defensive stats.”

    “What’s that,” Coach Prime asked.

“These are the LeBron’s he sent you, can I have them? You don’t need to see them; you ain’t gonna wear them. They too hard for your toes. Yup … He can’t say no when you really want it.”

Hunter celebrated his second win of the night with a cheeky laughter.

After a disappointing 4-8 record in the 2023 season, Coach Prime made every effort possible to change things around this year, from hiring the top NFL talents in the coaching staff to using the transfer portal to the team’s advantage.

However, one consistent doubt that the fans and even the recruit’s parents had was about Sanders’ future, as both his sons Shilo and Shedeur will declare for the 2025 NFL Draft.

During a conversation with Joel Klatt in June, Coach Prime talked about his future plans:

“I’m a leader of men, not a follower of men. I’m a father, not a baby. I lead my son. I don’t follow my sons. My sons, Travis included, are getting ready to migrate to the NFL. I’m not following them to the NFL.”

The Buffaloes play UCF on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. ET.
