Deebo Samuel Sr. has been one of the more unique stars in the NFL since arriving on the scene with the San Francisco 49ers in 2019.

Who Is Deebo Samuel Sr.’s Girlfriend, Mahogany Jones?
While many girlfriends and wives of NFL players choose to remain out of the spotlight, Jones has been front and center since her relationship with Samuel was made public.
And when it comes to success, Samuel isn’t the only one making things happen.
According to People, Jones has worked as an entrepreneur and has her own clothing company called Shades of Mahogany. During that time she has become an Instagram influencer and model with close to 275,000 followers.

People’s feature story on Samuel and Jones highlighted the relationship that the two have with the receiver’s family. They regularly visit and play games with the Samuels, who are reportedly very welcoming of Mahogany.
“We always playing card games … we take every game so serious,” Jones said. “Deebo hates to lose. Like, if he loses a football game, we all agree not to talk to him. … He’s going to be in a bad mood, so even with card games he wants to win everything. … I love all of them. They feel like home.”

Jones shared a typical date night with Samuel that ended with the All-Pro wide receiver providing a card for her: “Mahogany, you are my happy place. I love you so much,” he wrote, according to People.
Jones isn’t afraid to post plenty about her relationship with Samuel, and it certainly seems that the two are very happy together.
Samuel and Jones’ Relationship Timeline
The relationship between Jones and Samuel is relatively easy to track, and it’s even taken some interesting turns along the way. The two started dating in 2019 when Jones was earning her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Meanwhile, Samuel was a rookie with the 49ers.
Two years later, the couple had their first child together, Tyshun Raequan Samuel Jr. Both Samuel and Jones consistently post about their child, with Jones regularly sitting and eating with her son while watching his father play on NFL Sundays.
“I definitely have more patience now than I’ve ever had before. But, you know, my son comes first before anything else,” Samuel said to People about his son. “My top priority is to ensure that he has a better life than I did growing up and just make sure he has not another worry on this Earth. So that’s why I go out there every day, practice, games, just giving my all to make sure he’s fine.”
In an interview with Overtime SZN’s “The Deebo Samuel Documentary” in 2022, Jones acknowledged the fear and later joy of celebrating Tyshun’s birth with her boyfriend.
“When I found out I was pregnant, I was nervous. I was scared, but he was so excited,” she explained. “He said, ‘I want him to be my little Deebo. He needs to be just like me. I can’t wait to dress him. We gonna dress like twins.'”

According to the 49ers website, Samuel isn’t just changing his number from No. 19 to No. 1 for the 2024 season — he will adopt the Sr. suffix on his nameplate as well.
The Samuel family may have gotten bigger over the years, but they appear as connected as ever as the 28-year-old prepares for his next big season with the 49ers.
