Deebo Samuel is among the more recognizable faces on the San Francisco 49ers and across the league. His Pro Bowl nod from 2021 and his high-selling jersey are proof of his popularity.
But is Samuel one of the richer members of the 49ers?
Looking at Deebo Samuel’s Current Contract With the 49ers
Samuel signed a blockbuster three-year extension on the eve of the 2022 training camp that paid him up to $71,550,000.
Here’s what other incentives got attached to his megadeal he agreed to:
- Samuel’s deal included a signing bonus of $24,035,000.
- He was given $58,100,000 in guaranteed money.
- His average annual salary topped off at $23,850,000.
As for what he’s currently making now in terms of base salary, Samuel is raking in $1,080,000 for 2023. But that number is set to significantly increase according to Spotrac. Samuel is expected to earn $20,972,000 for 2024 with his base salary.
Samuel does carry a potential opt-out clause in his contract. That can go into official effect in 2025. He doesn’t become an unrestricted free agent until 2026. But with the opt-out option, the 49ers would end up getting a $15,143,000 hit in terms of dead cap value.
What Is Samuel’s Net Worth Now for 2024?
Surprisingly, Samuel is nowhere near the $20 million mark for net worth. Or even the $15 million threshold.
As of Oct. 9, 2023, Samuel carries a net worth of $10 million. Part of his net worth includes all of his endorsement deals through Snickers, Bose, Beats by Dre, and Gatorade.
However, his total career earnings make him far wealthier.
The 2021 All-Pro has made $42,747,716 in career earnings. That number includes a $300,000 workout bonus plus $9,215,500 attached to him.
Was 2023 Samuel’s Bounce-Back Year?
Samuel admitted before 2023 that he wasn’t in the best of shape for 2022.
He told reporters that he kept thinking about his next contract throughout the offseason, which weighed heavy on him. Then there was the constant chatter of possible trade inquiries during March and on NFL Draft night.

His 2022 ended with disappointing numbers across the board: 56 receptions, 632 yards, only two receiving touchdowns, and an average of just 11.3 yards per catch. Rushing-wise, Samuel mustered just 232 yards on 42 carries and added three touchdowns.
Those numbers were vastly different from the epic 1,770 total-yardage output of his All-Pro season of 2021.
Samuel, though, made a return to the 1,000-yard club this past regular season. He tallied 1,117 yards as the elite receiving and rushing threat he’s been developed into.
On the wideout end, Samuel snatched 60 receptions (four more than last season), accumulated 892 yards, and went on to deliver a new career-high seven touchdowns. As for the ground side of things, Samuel rolled up 225 yards on 37 carries and averaged 6.1 yards per carry. He surpassed the goal line five times after taking handoffs.
He went on to deliver his best performances in December during the 49ers’ push for the top seed in the conference. Samuel snatched four catches for an astonishing 116 yards and scored three total touchdowns in the 42-19 rout of the Philadelphia Eagles.
He then came back the following week to tally up seven catches for 149 yards and scored twice (one receiving and one rushing) in the 28-16 win over the Seattle Seahawks.
Samuel now gets a new opportunity to stay unbeaten against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. He’s never lost to the Pack in the postseason, with victories in the 2019 season NFC title game and the 2021 Divisional Round upset in Lambeau Field.
