Latest Injury News Surrounding David Montgomery

Montgomery shareholders can start the week with a bit of optimism after he logged a limited practice on Monday heading into their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Packers.

Montgomery considers himself day-to-day while trying to work his way back from this injury.

    Will Montgomery Play This Week?

The short week unfortunately robs Montgomery of a couple additional recovery days heading into Week 4. But his appearance on the practice field to start the week is certainly encouraging for his availability on Thursday.

If Montgomery manages to log a full practice on Tuesday or Wednesday, it would drastically improve his chances to return to action against the Lions.

What Does This Mean for Montgomery’s Fantasy Ranking?

If Montgomery is unavailable for Thursday Night Football, expect rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs to see an expanded role against the Packers.

Should Montgomery be able to go in Week 4, he will face off against a Green Bay defense that gave up 211 yards on the ground against the Falcons.

Through his first two games as a member of the Lions, Montgomery has carried the ball 37 times for 141 yards and two rushing scores.

If Montgomery returns to action this week, he is a fringe top-20 option at the running back position against the Packers.
