Davante Adams Rues Raiders’ Failure To Bring Jayden Daniels to Las Vegas

Davante Adams shared his sorrow that the Raiders missed out on Jayden Daniels as the Commanders QB advances to the NFC Championship Game.

Jayden Daniels has proven himself to be a generational talent. Unlike many rookies, the Washington Commanders’ quarterback has taken to the NFL without any jitters.

New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams has been a longtime admirer of Daniels, and his trajectory could’ve been different had the Las Vegas Raiders been able to draft him.

Davante Adams Shares Regret That Raiders Were Not Able To Pick Jayden Daniels

After the 2024 NFL Draft, Adams said the team wished it had drafted Daniels. The Raiders had the 12th overall pick, while Daniels went to Washington with the No. 2 pick.

During Adams’ appearance on “Up & Adams” on Tuesday, the WR was asked again about his regrets of not teaming up with Daniels in Las Vegas. The 32-year-old banged his hand on the table and proceeded to laud Daniels’ performances and compare him to the current Green Bay Packers quarterback.

“He reminds me a lot of, just the temperament, the calmness, the smoothness out there, he’s a lot like Jordan Love,” he said. “You never see him get worked up.”

“He may put a ball out a little too far, somebody may not come down with it, which doesn’t happen too much, but if it does, you can just feel it’s like a veteran feel back there.

“The kid is just sitting in the pocket, dialing it up, waiting for stuff to develop, hitting all the receivers, and running the ball, running through people, doing a little bit of everything. This is exactly why I wanted him in Vegas.”

Adams spent only two years with Love on the Packers during which time Love didn’t secure a starting position. However, his continued admiration for Daniels could potentially lead him to play in Washington as his future is still undecided.

Eagles Show Their Respect for Daniels

Before the Philadelphia Eagles and the Commanders face off in the 2024 NFC Championship Game, Philly’s defensive coordinator has already started praising Washington’s rookie quarterback. Vic Fangio shared his admiration for Daniels to the press on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

“The guy’s playing extremely well,” Fangio said. “You can tell how much they think he’s playing so good by the volume of their offense and the things they trust him to do. And he’s come through for them in a big way. And he’s tough to handle.”

The Eagles and the Commanders will face off on Sunday, Jan. 26 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET.
