As we close in toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move, with key events like free agency and the 2023 NFL Draft still to come. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty fantasy football value of QB Daniel Jones.
Daniel Jones Dynasty Outlook and Value
After three seasons of mediocre play, New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones put together a fantastic season when he needed it the most.
Having averaged 2,799 yards, Jones saw a massive increase across the board under new head coach Brian Daboll. Completing 317 of his 472 passing attempts (67%), Jones threw for 3,205 yards with 15 touchdowns and only five interceptions. What fantasy managers really loved was his rushing production.
Considered an above-average athlete playing quarterback, Jones rushed for 780 yards with seven touchdowns on 120 carries during the 2022 season. Although he averaged 200 passing yards per game, that was fine for most fantasy managers as Jones ended the season as the QB9 overall and QB10 in points per game, averaging a respectable 18.1 PPR/g in 2022. This is why rushing production is so critical in any format.

For Jones, this could not have come at a better time. Leading the Giants to their first winning record since his selection, plus a playoff victory, the price has unquestionably gone up for him as he heads into free agency. Thus, making the decision to decline his fifth-year option a tough pill to swallow but one that appears to worked out for both sides in the end.
Daniel Jones Fantasy Ranking
Coming into last season, managers couldn’t get rid of Jones quickly enough after QB22, QB24, and QB27 finishes in his first three seasons. But after last season’s success, Jones is being looked at in a different light.
With Jones now locked into a four-year, $160 million contract with $35 million in incentives, Jones appears to be a strong mid-QB2 for dynasty. That is also where he comes in for our dynasty Superflex rankings as the QB16 (54th overall), which makes him a solid value in dynasty drafts.
Jones is a highly intriguing player. We’ve seen a glimpse of the upside on the ground and know how vital this is for a player’s ceiling. But if the passing game also comes around with some added weapons around him, Jones would carry low-end QB1 upside on a weekly basis.
However, I would be surprised if he was ever ranked there from a dynasty perspective, given the amount of upside at the position and with incoming names like C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young, Anthony Richardson, and Will Levis in 2023, plus Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, J.J. McCarthy, and others coming in the 2024 class, which is absolutely loaded.
Now that he’s back with the Giants for the season, I would have no issue coming into the year with Jones as my QB2 in a Superflex league, but ideally, he would be a QB3. With that said, Jones’ contract shows how the Giants view him. He is who they believe can take them to the promised land. Whether or not Jones can do that for your dynasty team in 2023 remains to be seen, but the signs are certainly promising based on what he did on the field last year.
