Is D’Andre Swift Playing in Week 14?

Swift did not participate in practice Wednesday or Thursday due to a quad injury. He returned for a limited session on Friday and is considered questionable for Week 14.

This is a new injury for Swift, who wasn’t listed on the Bears’ injury report leading up to Week 13. Interim Bears head coach Thomas Brown said Swift “ran around pretty good” during Friday’s practice, possibly suggesting the RB has a chance to play this week.

Swift dealt with a groin issue entering Week 12. Chicago took it easy with its starting running back, allowing him to progress with a DNP-LP-FP practice week.

If Swift and Johnson are both sidelined on Sunday, Travis Homer would step into the Bears’ lead-back role. Chicago would likely also promote an RB from its practice squad.

We’ll continue to monitor the Bears’ injury report. You can also visit and bookmark our NFL Injury Tracker and Fantasy News Tracker for the latest updates.

Should You Start or Sit D’Andre Swift in Week 14?

While the volume on the ground has been underwhelming of late for Swift (consecutive weeks of a decline in carry count and under 15 in three straight), the combination of involvement in the passing game along with the spike plays has proven to be enough to keep in fantasy lineups.

Swift has earned nine targets in those three games and has a 29+ yard gain in that run of three straight against divisional opponents.

There’s only so much upside that comes with being tethered to this inconsistent offense, and I don’t expect that to change this weekend. However, with a bell-cow role between the 20s and a versatile skill set, Swift is a weekly starter for you, even if the odds of him taking over your matchup are low.
