Dan Quinn’s Coaching Contract and Net Worth
On Feb. 3, 2024, the Commanders hired Quinn to be their head coach. Strangely, the exact terms of the detail were never made public. We know he was signed to a multi-year contract, but we don’t know the length nor the compensation.
Sometimes, head coaches can command lucrative salaries. However, given that Quinn is not quite a household name, he’s probably not making as much as the likes of John Harbaugh or Mike Tomlin.

Dan Quinn’s Coaching History
Prior to securing the Commanders’ head-coaching job, Quinn served as the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive coordinator. With the Cowboys, Quinn’s defenses were top-seven in points against all three years he held the position. In 2021 and 2022, the Cowboys led the NFL in takeaways.
Quinn’s performance with the Cowboys is what earned him a second coaching job. Previously, he served as the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons from 2015-2020. In his second season, he led the Falcons to the Super Bowl, where they famously blew a 28-3 lead to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, losing the first overtime game in Super Bowl history.
As head coach of the Falcons, Quinn would go on to earn just one more playoff appearance. After starting the 2020 season with five straight losses, the Falcons relieved Quinn of his duties.
Before earning the Falcons’ head-coaching job, Quinn spent the better part of 15 years serving as a defensive line coach and, ultimately, the defensive coordinator during part of the Seattle Seahawks’ famed “Legion of Boom” era that won the Super Bowl 43-8 in 2013.
