“I’m Never Coming on This Show Again” – Tension Already Brewing Between ESPN Personalities?

Pat McAfee and Dan Orlovsky went from a cordial conversation to one that abruptly ends with a hang up. What happened?

The new work relationship between veteran ESPN NFL personality Dan Orlovsky and the network’s newest star Pat McAfee is off to a rough start … which has now gotten viewers and listeners wondering if there are already early tensions between the two.

Why Dan Orlovsky Hung up During ‘The Pat McAfee Show’

Orlovsky, a regular on ESPN’s NFL Live and a Sportscenter contributor on the analyst end, was a call-in guest for the Wednesday edition of “The Pat McAfee Show.”

The conversation started cordially with McAfee wanting to know “where’s the Dan wagon” heading — basically asking what the former Detroit Lions quarterback plans to talk about on NFL Live.

The loquacious McAfee, however, then brought up Orlovsky’s involvement in the promotion of the upcoming Denzel Washington film “The Equalizer 3,” in which the Ex-QB is seen in a commercial with fellow ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith.

In it, Smith mocks Orlovsky’s most infamous play during his NFL career when he ran out of the end zone untouched for a safety in a 2008 game with the Lions.

But then, Orlovsky gave McAfee and his panel of hosts one guess of who his celebrity look-alike is.

After a few guesses of Beetlejuice (likely referring to Michael Keaton), Wesley Snipes, and “Billions” star Paul Giamatti, the answer was actor John Krasinski, best known for “13 Hours,” “A Quiet Place” and the Amazon Streaming Show “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.” But that’s when the mood changed.

“All you guys are talking like your 10s, dude!” Orlovsky ranted on the show. “You guys hit me with Beetlejuice and Paul Giamatti.”

Then, McAfee suggested Orlovsky’s look-alike is actor Paul Walter Hauser — the 36-year-old known for “Richard Jewell,” “I, Tonya,” and for having a role in Netflix’s “Cobra Kai” series.

“Alright, I’m out, dude,” Orlovsky said, seemingly annoyed at the show. “I’m never coming on this show again.”

Perhaps it was McAfee and the show’s attempt to rib at Orlovsky’s facial looks in good clean fun. Except, it led to Orlovsky abruptly hanging up on him and the other hosts.

    Did Orlovsky Call Back?

McAfee then made the attempt to reach out to a seemingly annoyed Orlovsky to apologize.

Orlovsky, though, took to social media and doubled down by saying that his appearance on McAfee would be the last one he does.

Orlovsky, meanwhile, isn’t just preparing for another season of NFL analysis. He’s set to cover college football for ESPN as a studio analyst alongside Kevin Negandhi and Anthony “Booger” McFarland.

Orlovsky has been with ESPN since 2018.
