Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert has been the quintessential fantasy tease at the TE position for the better part of the last four years. His exceptional pass-catching skills in a high-powered offense loaded with two great wide receivers simply hasn’t seen him take the next step into the company of the fantasy elite at the position.
Will 2024 finally be the fantasy breakout season Goedert truthers have been expecting since he entered the NFL back in 2018?
Should You Select Dallas Goedert at His Current ADP?
PPR Industry Consensus ADP: 108th Overall (TE12)
- Unrealized Potential: Goedert has long been seen as a potential breakout candidate due to his elite catch radius, excellent hands, and productive YAC ability. However, despite entering his seventh NFL season, he has yet to record a 60-reception campaign.
- 2023 Performance: Goedert finished the 2023 season as the TE14 in full-PPR formats with 59 receptions for 592 yards and three touchdowns. This marked the fourth consecutive year where he finished outside the top 10 at the TE position.
- Lack of Ceiling: In 2023, Goedert provided a reliable floor, scoring seven or more fantasy points in 11 of his 14 games. However, he lacked a true ceiling, with only one 100-yard game and no games with 10 or more targets.
- Competition and Role Limitations: The presence of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, combined with Jalen Hurts’ regression in passing production and the Eagles’ red-zone reliance on the Tush Push, limits Goedert’s upside. He has never topped five receiving touchdowns in a season.
- ADP Analysis: Goedert’s current ADP as TE12 in the 10th round reflects a decline in expectations from fantasy managers. He’s being drafted before T.J. Hockenson, Cole Kmet, and Dalton Schultz, all of whom have outperformed him in recent seasons.
- Final Verdict: While Goedert possesses a top-10 skill set, his consistent underperformance, target competition, and durability issues make him a risky bet. If you’re looking for a high-ceiling streaming option, Goedert might be worth considering. However, if you’ve decided to punt the tight end position, it’s likely better to pass on Goedert in the 10th round.

Dallas Goedert’s Fantasy Profile for the 2024 NFL Season
Goedert has the type of elite catch radius, excellent hands, and productive YAC ability that have led fantasy managers to believe the South Dakota State prospect is on the cusp of a breakout season for years now. Unfortunately, Goedert is entering his seventh season and doesn’t have a 60-reception campaign on his resume.
Goedert finished the 2023 season as the TE14 in full-PPR formats with 59 receptions for 592 yards and three scores. This marks the fourth straight year where he has finished outside of the top 10 at the TE position.
Perhaps Goedert’s zero receptions in the season opener was foreshadowing another weird year for the veteran tight end. Goedert failed to score 10 fantasy points in 10 of his 14 games in 2023 but scored seven or more fantasy points in 11 of his 14 games.
This means Goedert gave fantasy managers a very reliable floor but with essentially no ceiling to speak of in 2023. Goedert had a single 100-yard receiving performance and never saw 10 targets in a game last season.
The regression of Jalen Hurts’ passing production, the Tush Push gobbling up red zone scoring opportunities, and the presence of two great receivers — A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith — certainly didn’t do Goedert any favors last year. Yet, those are all factors that will be present again this upcoming year. Goedert has never topped five receiving touchdowns in a season.
The bottom line remains that Goedert has never reached 90 targets, 60 receptions, 900 yards, or six TDs in a season over his six years in the NFL. Could he finally put it all together in 2024?
Sure, it’s within the range of outcomes. Yet, while Goedert’s fantasy floor makes him a serviceable streaming option, it’s unlikely he finally reaches his perceived ceiling with legitimate target competition, durability issues, and a capped red zone role this year.
Is Goedert a Good Value in Fantasy Drafts?
Goedert’s ADP of No. 108 overall as the TE12 off the board in the 10th round suggests that fantasy managers are starting to lower their expectations for the Eagles TE heading into his seventh NFL season.
For some additional context, Goedert is currently being drafted before T.J. Hockenson, Cole Kmet, and Dalton Schultz — who have all finished ahead of Goedert in the fantasy rankings at the position for the last two years.
Does Goedert have a top-10 fantasy skill set at tight end? Yes. Unfortunately, his fantasy production simply hasn’t been there consistently over the last four years. His target competition and durability issues have ultimately led him to be an unreliable fantasy starter for your team.
If you want to select Goedert as a high-ceiling streaming option to pair with another tight end to play matchups, then that is your call to roster two tight ends. Yet, if I have decided to punt the tight end position altogether, then I’m probably going to pass on Goedert in the 10th round.
