Dallas Goedert Dynasty Profile: Fantasy Outlook, Value, Projections, and Rankings

With the dynasty season booming right now, where does the dynasty value of Dallas Goedert stand, and where does he come in for our rankings?

As we close in toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move, with key events like free agency and the 2023 NFL Draft still to come. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty fantasy football value of TE Dallas Goedert.

Dallas Goedert’s Dynasty Outlook and Value

In a position with only so many streamable options, having a reliable tight end for dynasty is everything. The waiver wire is as barren as it gets, and it’s improbable you’ll be able to find someone to stream in a given week as you can in redraft. You want someone you can put in your lineup and not have to worry about. That’s Goedert.

He missed some time due to injury, but his TE5 finish in points per game (11.8 PPR) tells you all you need to know about his weekly consistency. While 15th in targets (68), Goedert’s 5.8 per game was on pace for 98.6 over 17 games, which would have placed him tied with Evan Engram and Pat Freiermuth for fifth last year.

Even over the last two seasons, this holds up, as Goedert has averaged 56.7 yards per game and 10.6 yards per target.

When active, Goedert averaged a 21.7% target share. He caught 55 of his targets (69) for 702 yards and three touchdowns in his 12 games while sliding into the slot on 24% of his snaps (11th).

Despite his missed time, Goedert was seventh in fantasy points per route run, third in YAC (425) and YPRR (2.24), first in yards per target (10.3), third in yards per team passing attempt (1.88), and fourth in EPA. Similar to A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, Goedert thrived in what was a highly efficient offense.

His target upside is a bit limited as the Eagles were the fourth run-heaviest team in the league last season (48.4%), and Goedert has to share targets with Brown and Smith. But am I going to say no to 75+ targets in one of the most efficient offenses in the league at one of the hardest positions to find stable value? Absolutely not.

    Dallas Goedert’s Dynasty Fantasy Ranking

Goedert unquestionably has the upside to be in the upper tier of the position. He is currently my TE6 in PPR formats behind Travis Kelce, Kyle Pitts, Mark Andrews, T.J. Hockenson, and George Kittle.

In Superflex formats, where QBs see an increase in value due to positional scarcity, Goedert is the No. 81 overall ranked player. But when we look at the landscape of the TE position, especially in even this upper range, it’s not as stable as we would like to imagine.

Andrews had a falloff due to QB play, and we don’t know the future of Lamar Jackson in Baltimore. Kelce is 33, and his metrics have some concerning red flags, such as snap count.

Pitts was a complete no-show and then went onto the IR. Kittle, meanwhile, is 29, posted his second-lowest target volume since his rookie year, and salvaged his season by scoring seven of his 11 touchdowns in Weeks 15 through 18.

Because of all of this, plus the turnover at the position, Goedert is an easy hold for me. I would not even add him to trade offers as bait and would decline virtually all incoming ones that involve him because you don’t have a replacement-level player who can fill the void for a competing team.

That, or you would need to be getting someone like Michael Mayer, Pat Freiermuth, Evan Engram, or Darren Waller, plus some additional compensation.
