Dallas Cowboys Predicted to Add WR1, 26-TD Talent 12th Overall in the 2025 NFL Draft

The Dallas Cowboys need to make a splash this offseason and PFSN's latest mock draft predicts they'll select one of the best WRs in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Dallas Cowboys had a disappointing 2024 season, winding up with the 12th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after finishing 7-10. Franchise quarterback Dak Prescott went down in Week 9 with a partially torn hamstring, and the team couldn’t recover until it was too late.

Watching the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles play in the NFC Championship Game, and Philadelphia go on to win Super Bowl 59 made things worse for Dallas. Jerry Jones loves to take big swings in the offseason, and PFSN’s latest mock draft has them landing a massive receiver to kickstart the Cowboys’ offense.

Cowboys Predicted To Add 26-TD Arizona Wildcats Receiver

Things were rocky early in the 2024 season for Dallas, as the Cowboys were 3-4 going into their Week 9 game, where Prescott was then injured. Cooper Rush filled in for Prescott and turned in some solid performances late in the campaign, but Dallas’ offense finished No. 23 in PFSN’s Offense+ metric.

Rush did admirably in his first extended action as a starter, going 4-4 while throwing for 1,844 yards and 12 touchdowns. However, the offense lost much of its potency without Prescott. Fifth-year receiver CeeDee Lamb’s production dropped to 1,194 yards and six touchdowns, while the second-most productive receiver was Jalen Tolbert, who recorded 610 yards.

Dallas’ run game was nonexistent last season, as the Cowboys finished with just six rushing touchdowns in 2024. Rico Dowdle led the team with 1,079 rushing yards and two scores. The offense had no juice after Prescott went down, but PFSN’s Brentley Weissman predicts the Cowboys will add Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan to spark the unit.

Weissman wrote, “Dallas has had a major hole at receiver opposite Lamb, and they finally add a playmaker to help alleviate Lamb with the selection of McMillan. McMillan is one of the best receivers in this class and is a perfect complement to Lamb from a skill set and style perspective.

“McMillan is a big-bodied pass catcher who has excellent hands and ball skills. He can be the chain-mover and end zone target the Dallas Cowboys need.”

The Arizona product measured 6’4 1/8″, 219 pounds at the 2025 Scouting Combine, and leaves college after two highly productive seasons. McMillan put up 84 receptions, 1,319 yards, and eight touchdowns in his final season at Arizona. This production came on the heels of 90 catches, 1,402 yards, and 10 touchdowns as a true sophomore the year before.

He possesses very good size and overall athleticism for the position and is a versatile receiver who can line up outside, in the slot, and even attached to the hip of the tight end. McMillan can become a matchup nightmare against nickel corners and linebackers and would be a great compliment across from Lamb.

He’ll immediately impact whatever team drafts him, and Cowboys fans should be hoping Jones decides to bring him into the fold.
