Head coach Mike McCarthy said in a press conference that Leighton Vander Esch would be moved to injured reserve with a neck injury and will not be eligible to return for at least four weeks, putting the earliest point of return at Week 10 against the New York Giants.

The Cowboys officially signed LB Rashaan Evans to the practice squad to add depth to the linebacker room. McCarthy said the team felt that Evans was the best fit of all of the visits that happened at The Star on Wednesday.

    Peyton Hendershot

Peyton Hendershot will also be put on injured reserve with an ankle injury that has kept him from playing for the last two weeks.

In the meantime, the team has officially elevated Sean McKeon from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. McKeon coming off of the practice squad allows Evans to fill that vacant spot.

    KaVontae Turpin

McCarthy said KaVontae Turpin will spend more time with the rehab group at practice, saying, “We’ll see. I think he’s champing at the bit to do more.”

Turpin is dealing with an ankle injury he sustained in Sunday’s game against the 49ers that kept him sidelined in the second half.

    Donovan Wilson

The Dallas head coach also said that Donovan Wilson is expected to return to practice after leaving Sunday’s game with what looked to be an ankle or leg injury.

    Nahshon Wright

The head coach also announced that Nahshon Wright will have his 21-day practice window opened. Wright suffered an ankle injury during the preseason. He can work back into the backfield rotation and add more depth in the Cowboys’ secondary.
