Dallas Cowboys Practice Report and Injury Update: Latest on Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, and Rico Dowdle

As the Dallas Cowboys prepare to face the San Francisco 49ers in a key clash, several players missed Wednesday's practice. We have the latest updates.

The Dallas Cowboys face one of their toughest tests of the season on Sunday when they take on the San Francisco 49ers, one of the NFL‘s two remaining unbeaten teams.

Dallas would certainly benefit from having its offensive line back at full strength for the contest after Tyron Smith has not played in the last two games. The unit will be key against a formidable 49ers defensive line that features the likes of Nick Bosa, Javon Hargrave, and Drake Jackson.

We have the latest on Smith and the Cowboys’ other injured players in our Oct. 4 practice report.

From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

    Dallas Cowboys Practice Report

Smith, Zack Martin, and Peyton Hendershot all got rehab work in today, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer. Martin played last week against New England, while Hendershot missed the game.

Smith was available but did not play against Arizona in Week 3, then did not practice all of last week and was ruled out with a knee injury ahead of last week’s win over New England. He played in both Weeks 1 and 2.

Smith and Martin were both described as “limited” by Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy earlier in the day before reportedly not participating in practice.

Rico Dowdle also reportedly got rehab work in but was on the field for the open portion of practice, according to Archer. Dowdle suffered a bruised hip in the win over New England.

CeeDee Lamb, DeMarcus Lawrence, Johnathan Hankins, and Stephon Gilmore all missed the media portion of practice. McCarthy told reporters earlier in the day that the team is integrating more “veteran rest days” on Wednesdays, per Nick Harris.

Micah Parsons was also described as “limited” by McCarthy, who added that Parsons is “good to go.”
