The Dallas Cowboys have constantly gotten ripped for their lack of offseason moves this year. In today’s Cowboys news, head coach Mike McCarthy speaks on their inactivity and more.

HC Mike McCarthy Isn’t Worried About the Lack of Moves
Luckily for the Cowboys, the jokes about Jerry Jones weren’t the only news of the day. Head coach Mike McCarthy spoke with ESPN’s Adam Schefter and discussed why he’s excited for the next iteration of the team.
“I’m a big believer in the second to third-year jump. You know we have some young players, we got some guys coming back off of IR that are young players that we’re excited about, so we are definitely improving,” McCarthy said. “We’re just not part of the free agent market right now.”
Brock Hoffman Ready To Step Into Starting Role
The Cowboys lost center Tyler Biadasz to the Washington Commanders in free agency. One man is looking to step up to take over the job — Brock Hoffman.
Hoffman spoke with Cowboys team reporter Nick Harris about competing for the role.
“It’s on my mind every day right now, to be honest with you,” Hoffman said. “I’m training like I’m ready to be that guy. I’m humbled. I’ve done everything that I’ve had to do. I’ve faced some adversity, being cut off the practice squad. I feel like that’s all led to this moment, and I’m ready to do what I need to do to help this team win a championship.”
The undrafted center out of Virginia Tech played all 17 games last season and made two starts. He took 221 snaps last year, playing 19% of Dallas’ offensive plays. If he can step into the role, he’ll just be filling one of the holes along the offensive line.
Chris Trapasso Mocks Texas WR Xavier Worthy to Dallas
The Cowboys most likely need to add to its offensive line and running back groups. However, it’s a belief by CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso that Dallas could add a speedy wideout to the team.
“Why can’t the Cowboys add a young, elite burner to the receiver group,” Trapasso asked. “[Xavier] Worthy staying in state would be fun for Dak Prescott.”
Xavier Worthy measured at 5’11 2/8″ and 165 pounds with a wingspan of 74 1/4 inches at the NFL Scouting Combine. Worthy’s official 40-yard dash time of 4.21 is the fastest in Combine history.
The Texas wideout had 197 catches for 2,755 yards and 26 touchdowns in three seasons with the Longhorns.
