The Dallas Cowboys are in the final preparation phase for Sunday’s matchup against the New York Jets.
Two players were listed as doubtful, and two as questionable for their Week 2 matchup.
Dallas Cowboys Week 2 Injury Report
WR Brandin Cooks
After not participating in Friday’s practice, Brandin Cooks was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. He didn’t participate in practice all week with a knee injury.
However, on 105.3 The Fan, owner Jerry Jones stated that Cooks is the kind of player who doesn’t need practice reps to be ready for the game, implying that he would be more of a game-time decision.

Cooks is dealing with an MCL sprain described as not being a multi-week injury. When he spoke in the locker room earlier this week, he said that if he were to participate in the game, he wouldn’t be limited.
Earlier in the week, Mike McCarthy mentioned that if Cooks cannot play, we could see more of Michael Gallup, KaVontae Turpin, Jalen Tolbert, or even Jalen Brooks.
OL Zack Martin
Zack Martin popped up on Thursday’s injury report with a groin issue.
The veteran spoke on 105.3 The Fan, stating he was dealing with some tightness that needed to be worked out, but overall, he felt good.
Martin was a limited participant in Friday’s practice and was listed as questionable.
McCarthy spoke about Martin in a conference call on Friday, saying they would see where he was after Saturday’s practice.
OL Tyler Smith
This is the second week Tyler Smith is dealing with a hamstring injury. Smith did not participate in practice and is doubtful for Sunday’s game.
During Thursday’s practice, Smith was not dressed out and did not participate but was working with Cowboy associate athletic trainer/director of rehabilitation Britt Brown and Cooks on the sidelines.

Chuma Edoga is the next guy up for the second week in a row. McCarthy spoke on Edoga’s approach last week, expressing he felt good about how he played against the Giants.
He also credited Edoga for switching from tackle to guard and being prepared to play on short notice.
S Donovan Wilson
Donovan Wilson is ramping up for an eventual return, but it doesn’t look likely to be this week.
Wilson was a limited participant in Friday’s practice and was listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game.
Earlier in the week, McCarthy mentioned Wilson got more practice time and would continue to be integrated.
When practice was open to media, Wilson was seen stretching with the rest of the team, working with Brown briefly, and practicing in position group drills.

McCarthy and the Cowboys training staff usually ramp up players returning from injury. So, all eyes will be on Wilson’s availability next week.
