How Many Picks Do the Cowboys Have in the 2025 NFL Draft?
Currently, the Cowboys have six picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Cowboys forfeited their Round 7 pick. That selection was sent to the Detroit Lions as collateral in the Lions’ trade-up from No. 29 overall to No. 24 during the 2024 NFL Draft.
In that exchange, the Cowboys received a 2024 third-round pick, which they would then use on Kansas State offensive lineman Cooper Beebe. At pick 29, they added Oklahoma offensive tackle Tyler Guyton.
At the 2024 NFL Trade Deadline, the Cowboys sent a fourth-round pick to the Carolina Panthers for wide receiver Jonathan Mingo. They received a seventh-rounder in return.

What Are the Cowboys’ Biggest Needs in 2025?
Can we just say everything?
In all seriousness, Dallas — long operated by Jerry and Stephen Jones — is at a dangerously precarious spot entering the 2024 season and 2025 offseason. Time may be running out to compete in this Super Bowl window, and massive turnover could be coming.
There are a number of notable players scheduled to be free agents in 2025. Potential free agents for Dallas include DeMarcus Lawrence, Zack Martin, Brandin Cooks, Osa Odighizuwa, Eric Kendricks, and Jourdan Lewis.
That leaves potential holes at running back, wide receiver, offensive line, defensive tackle, edge rusher, linebacker, and cornerback — specifically, the nickel spot.
To sum up, very few positions are truly off the table for the Cowboys in the 2025 NFL Draft. Running back and linebacker stand out as the most blatant needs in the present moment, but the ensuing offseason could create at least a couple more.
To that end, it could behoove the Cowboys to get ahead of the curve and acquire capital for veterans nearing expiration where applicable. Though the elder Jones has never been one to admit his roster needs a soft reset, now could be the time to make it happen.
