The Chicago Bears made an offseason deal that looks like a steal at this point. They’ll (likely) end up with the first pick in the draft and netted DJ Moore in the process. He’s been a revelation for them, but he went down with an apparent injury.
DJ Moore Injury Update
Moore was tackled on the first offensive drive of the game and awkwardly had his foot caught in the turf as he was spun down. After being down briefly, he was helped off of the field by trainers and was quickly escorted to the blue medical tent.

He was seen on the bench without his helmet as the offense set to begin their next offensive series. The broadcast showed him with a wrap on his ankle. He is listed as questionable to return with the ankle injury.

The Bears traded the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft for the No. 9 and No. 61 picks in the 2023 draft, a first-round pick in 2024 (which looks like the No. 1 pick), a 2025 second-round pick, and Moore.
It was a monumental return, allowing the Bears another opportunity to evaluate Justin Fields. In the process, they netted a potential opportunity to draft another potential franchise QB while also receiving Moore, a fantastic weapon on the outside.
If they decide to keep Fields for the foreseeable future, they can use their multiple high-draft selections to surround him with blue-chip talent. But getting to see him grow as a passer with Moore’s addition has made things interesting.
Moore returned closer to his Maryland Terrapin self with Chicago. The Bears used his post-catch skills much more creatively than Carolina ever did while also using him as a No. 1 WR.
Potential Fantasy Football Impact of Moore’s Injury
The Bears’ passing game may have suffered a big setback with Moore getting banged up on the team’s opening possession against the Cardinals. Moore caught just one pass for six yards before sustaining an injury.
Moore entered Sunday with 111 targets, which was 30 more than any other Bears player this season. Look for Cole Kmet, Darnell Mooney, and Tyler Scott to potentially see an expanded role in the Chicago passing attack while Moore is out of the lineup.
