The Dallas Cowboys found themselves facing yet another postseason disaster on Sunday.
But this time, the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs was down by an astonishing 27 points before halftime to the lowest-seeded team in the conference postseason.
Sure enough, the dominance the Green Bay Packers displayed led to a bevy of social media reactions to the Cowboys’ implosion, including those who believe a head coaching change is imminent.
Fans Begin To Believe Dallas Will Hire Bill Belichick
With the Packers building a 27-7 halftime lead, many fans began to believe recently ousted Super Bowl-winning head coach Bill Belichick has his new home lined up.
“Holy s—…Bill Belichick is gonna be the head coach of the Cowboys isn’t he?” ESPN personality Pat McAfee asked on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Complex Sports was another who began to envision a scenario where the six-time Super Bowl winner with the New England Patriots would walk into the Cowboys’ job.

One other account also typed up this conspiracy theory during a clip of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones talking with people in the suites.

Even Adam Rank of the NFL Network was one who started to believe that Belichick was already getting his next NFL attire ready after the Cowboys’ first-half implosion.
“Bill Belichick already cutting the sleeves off a Cowboys hoodie as we speak,” Rank shared on X.
Finally, ESPN personality and former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III began to hint changes were coming to Dallas soon. However, he wasn’t ruling out a Dallas comeback.
“It’s unfortunate, but someone is getting fired after this game. It will either be Mike McCarthy because of an embarrassing loss at home or Packers DC [defensive coordinator] Joe Barry for letting the Dallas Cowboys come back and win,” Griffin posted.
What Went Wrong for the Cowboys in the First Half?
Murphy’s Law made a rare appearance in Arlington, Texas. What could go wrong, went wrong for Dallas.
Green Bay marched right away down the field on its opening drive to the Dallas 3-yard line. Aaron Jones powered into the end zone to complete the 12-play drive and put GB up 7-0.

Things briefly looked up for Dallas after the second Packers possession, which ended in a punt. However, Jaire Alexander — considered questionable with an ankle ailment prior to the game — snatched a Dak Prescott pass for the first turnover to deflate the drive.
Jones needed just three plays to cap off the next scoring possession for the Packers, pummeling his way in from one yard out to extend the lead to 14-0.
Dallas then punted in the next offensive possession. Jordan Love, in his NFL playoff debut, then hit Dontayvion Wicks from 20 yards to build the lead further to 20.
Darnell Savage would go on to deflate the confidence of Cowboy fans even further with his pick-six, snatching Prescott’s pass and taking it back 64 yards to the end zone.
Fortunately for Dallas, the Cowboys ensured there wouldn’t be a shutout, as head coach Mike McCarthy made the aggressive decision to keep his offense on the field with two seconds left. Prescott hit Jason Ferguson from two yards out to score the final points of the half.
Still, Dallas trailed 27-7 and got fans believing McCarthy is soon to become the latest past Super Bowl winner to sever ties with his team.
